Any chance you can share pictures of where these little plugs are and what they are suppose to look like?

If you go to the Reddit post, you can see a larger photo of the plug, by clicking on each image in the OP.

I just did this on my front passenger side, and lo and behold, like posted, there was a nice release of water.

Was literally a 5 minute fix. Using a pick to get to the valve was helpful.

My question: is this only the front passenger side (where I though I heard the sloshing eminating), or is it happening to other doors too?

I've only ever heard it on the passenger side front door.

I brought mine in for other issues and mentioned I heard water, they told me they recreated it in the shop, they tried to replace the plugs on the frame of the door, still an issue, water came back. I'll post when I know the resolution.

Yesterday mobile tech came to address a couple issues. They removed the rear set of drains as they said they are often getting plugged up. Only other rec was to not park nose down on a hill. Nose up will keep water going to the drains that now have the block removed.

I'll ask where the plugs are when I pick up the truck, hopefully today.
I saw someone else posted after I did, maybe they have pictures

Sounded like they had to fill a cavity ? To stop water from entering the frame, they did a water test and water didn't return.
I'll find out.

EDIT: Added service invoice.

This is an old thread, but I have new info from Rivian:

There are also plugs in the rocker panels!

I was hearing a thud, or bass drum-type sound, every time during acceleration. Service diagnosed it and wrote back with this:

“So we found there was water ingress in the underside rocker panels. We had to replace the drain plugs and water was cleared. Noise has gone away.”

I asked if there was anything I could check, myself, of maybe even do to purge water if I ever hear that sound, again. They said:

“For now, we made some modifications to the drain plugs so that it allows more water to exit rather than accumulate. The water should not build up again to that point.”

I asked if the truck could still ford water without getting more water in those cavities. They said:

“Water will ingress regardless. Only now, it will not stay inside in excess.”

That’s not very encouraging. I wanted the drain plugs to work one-way, as designed, and keep water out. I guess I’ll just have to find them and check for water once in awhile.

If your doors are dry, but you still have a sound, check your rocker panels. I don’t know where the plugs are, but I’ll find them someday.

FYI: I had a definite water sloshing sound a few months ago after several days of heavy rain. Most of it must have drained out, though, because that sound went away. The remaining amount of water must have been causing this noise as it sloshed backward during acceleration, and hit the back wall of the rocker panel cavity.
