Wedding Ring scratches windshield.

Was cleaning windshield of the R1T. Clearing the dreaded bug guts, forgot to take my wedding ring off and my hand slid off the microfiber cloth. Bingo I now have a foot long scratch. Best part is it right where I can see it all the time. Ceramic ring is tougher than glass. Guess I’m hoping for rock chips now. Sad day.

There are companies that make glass compound and pads to polish with a DA.

You can probably fix it.

I’m hoping the glass guy that fixes all my company trucks can do something. He’s a miracle worker on chips. If he can’t than I’ll look for something.

If I can figure a way to get a photo I will. Maybe in the bright sun tomorrow it will stand out.

I tried that on a classic car windshield that is hard to get. Although it does look much better, it left a hologram type effect that is annoying. I'll probably end up replacing the glass after the car gets painted.

In these types of situations it helps to think about something positive that happened that day and then every time you look at the scratch, remember that positive thing that happened. That might help you live with it a little bit better. Replacing the windshield comes with a whole nother set of challenges.

They can try to fill the scratch with sane material they use to fill chips. Excess is scraped off with a razor blade. Good luck
