if you have notifications turned on (at least on iPhone) it fits do that. Also if you have live updates (also iPhone) the Rivian app will keep you updated on charging status in real time on your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island if it’s a 14 or newer.
I understand the existing notifications, but in the case of a session being stopped when you aren’t nearby I think it warrants something more prominent from the charge provider’s app. It shouldeven allow for re-starting an interrupted charging session if the cable is still connected. At a bare minimum, the charge provider‘s app should have a means to stop or dispute idle fees when the charge session is stopped at the pedestal, the vehicle remains connected, and the phone is distant from the pedestal. I think this all needs to be incorporated in the charge provider’s app since the Rivian app won’t have the same controls and feedback to the charge provider.

Pretty sure this isn‘t just an EA problem btw. You can stop a chargepoint session from the screen. Can‘t speak to EVGo as i have only used their overpriced chargers once.

That common EA station design is confusing. They need large signs that say “only one cable can be used at a time” and logic that keeps some one from affecting an existing session by plugging in the other cable. I had it happen to me but got the notification quickly enough to walk back and explain how the things work so the other person could move and i could restart it. I have also had to explain “only one car per cabinet” several other times.
Yeah the networks that use cabinets that only support one car even though they have more than one cable should clearly indicate one car ant a time. Freewire, ChargePoint, and Flo cabinets and the ones that EA uses are ones I know only allow one car ant a time. I’ve seen some that load split when a second car plugs in.

Sucks, but good news is that this is not a thing on Superchargers (one cable, no screen). For me, EA stations are about to be relegated to being a back-up to the back-up as soon as the adapter arrives (and EVGo / CP are back-ups to the back-ups to the back-ups).

Today I plugged in at an EA charger and after authorizing the charge via the app and confirming that the charge was going smoothly I walked over to a restaurant a few blocks away to eat lunch.
You too‽

Fortunately we had gotten sufficient charge and were already walking back from the restaurant when it happened. We were still 4 minutes away from incurring idle fees when we got back to the truck and unplugged.
