Why is my R1T beeping all the darn time!!!

This is hilarious. Our R1T seems to beep at us all the time when we're in the garage. I read the manual, looked online and for the life of me could not figure out what the issue was and why it was randomly beeping. I emailed the guide who suggested I take it in for service.... Really...?? So... I made a 90 second video and sent to the Rivian. They said it is the Camp speaker....!!! So, I took it out, and sure enough it was on.... I turned it off and problem solved.... So... maybe I'm the only who this has happened to... but if you ever wonder..... Here's the video I sent them:

? That would have driven me nuts. Yeah the camp speaker likes to connect to my bluetooth randomly...even when I turn it off....so...I have to forget the camp speaker and re add it anytime I want to use it.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm sure you're not the only one this has happened to and eliminating stuff like this that ends up in service tickets is a good thing!

Yeah, the camp speaker went on/off in the middle of the night when we were camping. We keep baby wipes in that space now.

Thanks for the video. i hear that on mine every once in a while and thought it would be the camp speaker, but didn't know i had to turn it off. I will now go in and turn it off. Appreciate it!

It's an unfortunate side affect, but a bad product becomes common waste.

Ours gathers dust in the corner of the cabin, turns out we never used it anyway, so more it's a useful storage cubby.

Mine did the same thing right after getting the Halloween update thought it was haunted, haha! Turned out the speaker was not maintaining its charge while in the dock. Charged it at home for 24 hours and was then able to turn it off, none of the buttons worked while it was beeping, factory resets didn’t help, and Rivian service was not able to help resolve this, figured it out myself.

Happened to me about a month ago. Beeps every 20 seconds. Drove me nuts. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes the 2nd guy I talked to turned us to the camp speaker. He had me take it out to charge it with a plug. Still beeped until it had a bit of a charge. In the truck it was like a smoke detector we couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. I turned the lock on for it hoping that that will keep it secured enough to keep it charged.

One day I’m going to figure out how to hard wire a physical disconnect switch to that thing.

A physical on/off switch would be nice, or at the very minimum a software update for the speaker. I "turned" mine off a few days ago, then two days later it's beeping at me again. A quick look and the non-intuitive control panel was lit up again and it was back to it's old random beeping game that I can't associate to anything. Whoever was in charge of the design/build for the camp speaker might think about a new career.

Today I experienced the same problem with my 2023 R1S. I've had it for about 3.5 months. It would be nice if Rivian had a warning light to alert the driver as to the problem!
