I hope my R1T was on the same train from IL to CA. I spoke to my guide yesterday and she said the truck is very close and will be delivered NLT mid March. I hope she is just padding it and i get it sooner.

Is it safe to assume that those ranges which are less than 10ish days most likely mean that the vehicle was already at the SC and not making the trek from IL to final SC location?

I got lucky since the truck was already at the sc when I selected it from the R1 shop. i have heard in other cases that some trucks are in Normal and would ship by rail thus the delay.

Had it for a week now and so happy with this truck! I do miss autopilot… (driver + just doesn’t compare) … but everything else… we are loving! Plan was to take it camping tonight but our rooftop tent got delayed by the winter storms here so instead we did a quick day trip to the site we had booked. Can’t wait to get back out here! Great to hear others are getting updates regarding delivery and I really appreciated all your responses and input!

PS back when the model 3 wasn’t as common as an Accord, it it was fun waving to and being waved at by other model 3 drivers. I love getting to experience that again now when passing another rivian. Nice to get that feeling of community back.

I will add my experience here since I leaned heavily on this thread before I got my delivery date:

1. Deposit placed on R1T: 09/11/22
2. Invitation to configure: 03/13/23
3. Configuration confirmed: 03/14/23
4. Access to the eight steps: 03/14/23
5. Invitation to the online shop: 03/14/23 (I knew about the shop from a friend and had to ask the guide for access)
6. I selected a shop configured R1T, which had the exact configuration I had already selected.
7. Delivery date (04/06/23 in Portland, OR) confirmed: 03/22/23

It seems like Rivian is starting to streamline its process.

Anyone know how long the vehicle is typically at the SC post train ride before you get the delivery email? Asking for a friend.

Not long at all - I was told by my guide that my R1T was still in Normal getting ready for its trip to the Brooklyn SC on March 17th (Friday). I was emailed first thing this morning (March 22nd Wednesday) that it was ready for delivery. I don't know how long the ride from Normal to Brooklyn is, but assuming they don't work on Sundays, I'll guess they received it on Monday, prepped it on Tuesday, and called me on Wednesday.

Any new updates from members here or those still waiting for delivery? As I’m checking numerous times a day waiting for my truck.. trying to gauge if this is the week! Last thing I’ve heard was on 4/7 from the service center that they see my truck is in transit and I should work on completing my 8 steps. Lack of any communication or updates or where the truck is on its journey is nail biting!

I picked my R1S from the shop on 4/3 and was told it was in Normal. By the 7th it had moved to Elgin near the Chicago River. By the 10th, it was already in CA near Yermo. As of this morning, it is Fontana / Jurupa . Should be in at the Costa Mesa SC later this week. Not sure after that. I have everything done with FCU, but they said we will do the last signitures when I have a definite delivery date, so I don't start the interest clock. I also have to sell a car to Carvana, since they offered almost $5k more than Rivian. All the others were about $2k lower.

Where have you been getting such detailed updates? Your guide?
Mine only ever sends very generic or vague updates.
Mine supposedly left Normal around 3/27.
