Your statement about supply issues made it sound like you were more concerned about it pushing out even further. Since you're in a rental car until you get your Rivian, I would recommend contacting Rivian and asking if changing to BM might pull your delivery date in (if you haven't already). That's a long shot though, seems more likely any config change at this point would either not impact delivery at all or delay it further.
I'm concerned FE doesn't exist in bulk at the plant, since we haven't seen any in the wild. Clearly 21" wheels are in shortage, so it's likely there are others as well (aside from the obvious batteries and chips).

I did reach out a few weeks back, and as you surmised, they said it wouldn't improve delivery and could only delay further.

But I take CS responses with a grain of salt. We've seen opposite responses by different CS reps to the same questions before.

I'm in the March-April delivery window and I have FE interior selected. I've not heard from a Guide yet, but I'm hoping there are no delays.

ALL of the “early adopter” program trucks for employees have black interiors. According to a few rivian employees who have trucks that I’ve asked about it anyway.

One thought I've had is, I noticed all of the pre-production vehicles had black speaker grills (and a few other things), that looks really out-of-place. A little on FE, significantly more on Ocean Coast.

The renders don't show these black grills, so I'm wondering if they've had trouble with their supplier getting the color right on these items, and that's pushed back those interiors. I would assume there's a much wider range of "acceptable" black plastics to our eyes, but the light gray, and especially green would stand out if the colors were off.

I think they were probably just making one colour of speaker grilles for early production. Colour matching plastics isn’t so hard these days.

the truck I drove, with an ocean coast interior, had black speaker grilles, but the overhead console where reading lights and hazard switch are was colour matched to the headliner.

I have a May-June delivery date of an R1S with FE interior configured so I'm curious to follow this as well. A couple of others in my area (Atlanta) seemed to have earlier expected delivery dates with similar order times and I suspected that was because of the FE interior I have configured. I think this was an overall trend - FE being delivered a cycle behind other interior options - that @Craigins noticed on the survey he put out.

Thanks for this post. Now that Ocean Coast is the same price as Forest Edge I'm taking a hard look at the green. I don't want black interior in this vehicle (especially at this new price). I really like the look of the green, but my concern is that it feels too much like a puke or grinch green. I've read plenty of comments about the Ocean Coast being more of a gray. I think I'll just have to let my wife sit in both and see if she reacts to the green with any jokes about puke... If she does, we'll stick with the white...

What is your exterior color?

I've seen it with forest green and compass yellow. Both look great together. Others have seen it with Launch Green and were sold.

When I saw FE with FG exterior on an R1T at the Venice Hub, I was sold. That combo looks great. Feeling less bad about paying more for it as only BM will be the free one!! They had a RB/BM there as well and to me the BM wood was VERY black in real life and combined with the black interior (which I typically prefer), made the inside look very dark even in broad daylight!!

I "upgraded" to FE a few months ago. I love the OC color - if I could get the FE wood grain with the OC "leather" to me, that would be the best combo, I think. But I really, really love the FE wood grain. And the people I've heard that have seen it in person said the green wasn't overpowering the way it can look in some of the pictures. So I'm still in camp FE.

I'm going with the white exterior. I think the green interior would look cool, but like I said above I want to let my wife sit in it first and make sure the green isn't too overwhelming. Did anyone here decide against the green interior after seeing it in person?

I have not sat in it in person, but I have read at least two posts from people who decided against Forest Edge after seeing it in person. I believe one person thought it was too green overall and another specifically did not like how the headliner looked.

I've seen it a couple times and, while I think it is a nice color, I think it is a little to pea soup for me. It does pair decently well with LA Silver, though.

Did you get to see it on any Forest Green trucks? I'm still wondering if it's going to be too much green, but so many of the pics I've seen make it look more gray.
