I preordered an R1S LE, max pack, 7 seater in launch green, green interior on 9/1/20 and my configuration still shows $77,500

That's called, they knew they were dropping a bombshell on their devoted fans and will now have a mad rush of people wanting to give them hell for it.

15k extra for my config. This pushes the pricing past the Canadian (BC?) luxury vehicle tax limit, and adds a TON more taxes as result.

EDIT: looks like total BC sales taxes (PST + GST) will increase from 15% to 20% since it broke the 125k mark. This applies to the total price, not just the difference. So after taxes, this is a total price increase of actually $24k!!

Thanks for doing the legwork on this. My R1S LE went from $107k to $129k. Time to start looking at something else. Bitterly disappointed.

It's pretty ironic that Tesla went through the same thing (price increase), the same dissatisfaction, the same "I'm cancelling my pre-orders and going to (X company)", and they're still making and selling their vehicles.

History repeats itself (still, the price increase does suck).

Yeah, I'm out. We had a good run, but I was already very much at the top of my comfort zone for the price of a vehicle. This is so far beyond it that it's not even in the realm of discussion. Good luck to everyone who sticks with it! I'm sure they're great vehicles.

No. There is CURRENTLY no limit on the price for the Federal tax credit. There was a proposed change that passed the House, but died in the Senate, which did add a MSRP limit to the tax credit. Since that didn't become law, it's irrelevant.

This thread is blowing up! Pages are being added faster than I can read them!!! My R1S went up by $14900, but at least I now get free tow hooks!! Yipeee!! I'll stay the course for now and maybe my first half 23 delivery will materialize into a late 22? TBH, the vehicle was priced too low to begin with, I realize this is an unpopular position. For early customer holders they really should have stepped the price increases based on how long reservation holders had been waiting. Rivian could STILL change their position on this and back off or could stay their ground and possibly add even more price increases later in the year. I'll keep my $1000 in play and see where it goes. Guess it was a good idea to place my Lyriq order after all to have something to tide me over or even to have in case I give up on Rivian!

I cannot imagine the absolute GUT-PUNCH from today if all the people excitedly posting about finally getting "the call" from Guides and strong hints at near term delivery got a double-whammy of, oh yeah, your price is rising about 20% today too. That's beyond unbelievable if that happens.
