Bolt EV-Kona EV+IONIQ 5 N - Deposits LUCID GRAVITY & BLAZER SS EV
I have a Tesla and pay no subscription fees. Mine is older and the connection is free for the life of the car. Newer Teslas require a $9.99/mo or $99/year connectivity fee inorder to connect over cellular networks. https://www.tesla.com/support/connectivity. Full self driving (which I wouldn't pay for at this point) is also available as a monthly subscription or outright purchase. Superchargers are available for any Tesla and are either free (if your car qualifies for free supercharging) or you are billed at whatever the rate is for that particular charger.

In terms of other EVs, I own a Chevy Bolt, the only subscription service is SiriusXM, like Chevies. For the Bolt, if you don't subscribe to Sirius then the Chevy App is very limited in capability and of course you don't have access to Sirius inside the car.
I also own a 2017 BOLT. You forgot the monthly ONSTAR subscription. My KONA EV same thing Hyundai Blu Link ( Same as ONSTAR services + XM ). They all do this subscription thing.

I don't know if anyone from Rivian reads this site but if they do, I have one word for them. LEARN. Learn from you communications blunder!!! Many people on this site have reservations with expected delivery dates. My expected date is April/May. You must immediately communicate with all of us and let us know if these dates have been extended. Leaving us to guess is NOT a solution and just repeats your poor communications process. LEARN.

See the attached email from FORD for my lightening reservation and LEARN.

How is this message in any way superior to anything Rivian has released? In my world it is not, and I got the same email. Matter of fact, after 9 months of having my reservation in, and after having reserved within the first 5 minutes of reservations being available, I received literally 0 communication from Ford until I got this email and cancelled my reservation, since 2022 delivery wasn't even a possibility for me.

I literally see nothing Ford did here that should be some super commendable effort. They gave no details, no timing, just 'sorry, sux to be you, please keep waiting'.

I struggle to praise Ford for basically saying "If you haven't heard anything from us you're not getting a vehicle this year." That's not exactly award winning customer service. However I will commend them for no longer accepting reservations. When reservations open again I'm sure there will be a tweak on pricing considering new orders would be at least 2 years out.

Mispoke, meant ONSTAR vs SIRIUS. I don't subscribe to ONSTAR in the Bolt don't really see the value in it.

They raised the prices, a ton of people canceled, and they had to walk it back. We don't know anything more than that right now. Adventure package might still need to have tonneau cover added on, we'll have to wait and see how the configurator for people who ordered before March 1st looks.
Thank you.

I guess I will wait to see what comes of the updates. Was confirmed before March 1st...so this will be interesting.

Rivian was very quick to update my online Rivian account page to the higher price but has yet to return it to my pre order pricing, anyone else?

It will take some time to undo and have the system include customers with two different prices (before 1 March and after).

The price increase was 1) planned in advance (they didn't decide to do it that morning), and 2) applied to every open order. So making that change was something they knew was coming, and they weren't accommodating multiple price tiers.

The rollback is not only more complicated (including figuring out how to revert people's orders), but also not something they had planned. They've probably been working on it since the email went out (only on Thursday, mind you!), and it's also the weekend.

So I'd give their developers a break.

I just received the following email from RIVIAN:
Rivian R1T R1S ? RJ's Letter -- Making it Right -- REVERSING THE PRICE CHANGE FOR PREORDER HOLDERS 8018b45b-bfe8-4b4b-9b7e-9750dd4435ef
Hi Brian,

We wanted to follow up with you directly after RJ’s letter this past Thursday regarding pricing. As RJ said, your previously configured price will be honored.

We appreciate your patience as we update our configurator and your Account page with your previous pricing. We expect this could take several weeks. In the meantime, you’ll be hearing from us more regularly.

Here are some things you should know:
  • Your Rivian Account page will continue to reflect the higher pricing until the update is complete.
  • Once the update is complete, your preorder will revert to what it was as of February 28, 2022.
  • We will honor the prices you were given for the options you previously chose.
  • Details regarding Rivian preorders can be found in our Preorder Agreement.
Feel free to contact us if you have questions or input throughout the process. We’re here to support you. Thank you for being part of the Rivian community.

I got it too.

I wonder if they'll honor previous pricing on any configuration changes we might want to make prior to delivery? For example, if I add crossbars, do I pay the old $450 or the new $500? If I change from white to one of the colors previously free with LE, is it still free?
