I’ve had 2 cars so far without a front plate and never been pulled over for it in 10+ years (in King county) so I’m going to keep going with it. I don’t really feel like it’s enforced.

Yeah not sure how that would play down here in Oregon. I think they like those front plates for the red light cameras

Ive heard of a folks in Bellevue getting hit with tickets. I'd love to not have it. Hopefully Rivian "doesn't provide a mounting option " or whatever the loophole is. ?

Ah yeah. Maybe don’t temp fate but I sure there will be options to mount it without drilling into the front bumper. I’ve seen options on other vehicles that mount underneath/behind the bumper. I

Well that’s disappointing. I’m sure someone will offer one of those front mount kits that can mounts under the truck and you can retract it under for photos or if you’re feeling like rolling the dice.

Regarding front-mounted license plates, and those of us in WA - I've been driving my last two LRs without the front license plate for a total of 6 years and have yet to get a ticket. If it happens now, I'll eat the cost as a price I pay for my vehicle looking sexy.

I stopped by delivery center (I was so excited to see if my truck was there, of course.). Talked to manager of deliveries and asked about that. The chargers are not coming with the trucks at delivery or before delivery. He said that it will be shipped to my house directly from Rivian in a couple of weeks. Not good news on that topic.

My Tesla charger arrived after my Tesla. Wasn't a big deal with 1k mile of free charging. Are the Rivian chargers at the service center free?

I didn’t have one for years either. I finally put one on when the Seattle PD officer who directed traffic outside my downtown office building pulled me aside and told me he would start ticketing me if I didn’t put it on.

Our update: current suspicion is our account is in a weird state because in the quick turn from "we're building your truck" to "it's here!" we never got the prelim agreement to sign and get filed away. So we're waiting on that, and hopefully it will unlock the rest.

Officially completed all 8 steps!! Last step (for me) was getting proof of insurance with the actual VIN on it... For those of you who are about to join the 8-Step Program, this is something to be aware of. Not that difficult, but don't expect it to happen over the weekend!
