If this is true then I plan on writing Launch Edition in crayon on a price of paper that I'm going to scotch tape to the dash of my adventure R1T

Should really help with resale value I think.
just buy an engraver. I’m sure you could do it freehand no problem.

This sucks @cohall , they had what, like 25 R1T’s that matched your exact color, interior, and wheels at that Denver Open House event?! Just know that as you wave to your happy late-order neighbor across the way, you have an army of forum members weighted on your middle digit! Ha!!!

I’ve decided that I’m definitely getting punk’d by Rivian.

My neighbor just got their R1T delivered today. Literally exact same specs as my configuration, Same color, same interior, same options. They posted lots of happy photos of taking delivery.

My neighbor ordered over 10 months after I did.

I’m losing my faith.
I’m sorry cohall, that really sucks. I would definitely be telling Rivian how annoyed you are about this, but don’t expect CS to have any good responses. It really makes you wonder if there is any design to their delivery schedule at all. How does that happen?

Yes, we all feel for you cohall. I just about ran down to my Land Rover dealer when I wanted one of the first new Defenders. I was crestfallen when I started seeing them in the wild before mine arrived. So yes, it feels like crap now but that feeling goes away. It will evaporate once you have YOUR truck and if you're LE it will be s00n (sorry, couldn't resist...)

...it does make us all wonder how they're prioritizing delivery. Is it staff running down a spreadsheet with pencil in hand, a sort by zip or address or something else? Whatever it is it sure looks cobbled together on the receiving end...

I sincerely hope you're right. But given I don't have a guide and my configuration isn't even locked yet, seems highly unlikely.

Upsetting because everyone is itching to get their vehicles? Sure.

But cmon. You think Rivian (or any manufacturer for that matter) has a list of people on an Excel spreadsheet and are sorting by date?

I'll give you a hint, it doesn't work that way. There are hundreds if not thousands of dependencies. I'll make one up that may or may not be true. Maybe your neighbor's address is just over the edge of some sort of defined region in the database.

Anyway, like another person said, a call to CS may clear some things up, but I'm betting it won't. They are simply customer service reps in a contact center (potentially outsourced....I worked in that industry for 15+ years). They have little to no knowledge outside of some basic knowledge bases and scripts.

Hmm feeling better about my feb 2021 preorder in Denver. I’ll let you all know when they upgrade me to launch edition and deliver in the next couple weeks.

That sucks. I have been patiently waiting even though yes I've seen plenty of deliveries that were ordered over 1 + years after my pre order. But it must sting a little different to walk out and see his every day.
