A friend of a friend works on the Rivian software engineering team. This is was a known issue before they started customer deliveries. I don’t have any read on if it’s correctable or not, but in general I got the sense that the software team is pretty unhappy with the state of what was shipped. This is just one of a number of under the hood issues it seems.
Makes me want to hold off and wait for OC interior all the more.

Eyeballing off the histogram I'd say the average Tesla driver (all models) sees 8 - 9 miles per day.
Our "S" loses about 3 mi/day or less unless it's winter when we lose 10 mi/day or summer sitting in the sun when we lose the same. But then again we don't use sentry mode overnight. I don't dare to generalize across all Tesla cars cause I don't know all the owners and their experiences.

Might be a big problem for someone who leaves their R1T parked in an airport parking lot for a couple of weeks, to return and find a drained battery! Rivian needs an OTA update to work on this issue ASAP. Having to tow away Rivian's due to dead batteries is not good for PR.

I read somewhere a guy left it at the airport with 200 miles and picked it up with 5 miles left. He was lucky he made it to a charger.

The easy answer is that it all goes to the 12V battery charger. It is those batteries that support all the computers, lights, camera's, monitoring, controls and camera loads.
Has anyone actually put an ammeter on the 12v battery lines and the HV battery line to measure the current in the circuit's independently? The one HUGE assumption on everything I've read in the thread so far is that the truck is "using" the energy (which I agree with but proof is required)...when in fact that's an assumption that the problem isn't the HV battery itself.

If it's being used by the truck Rivian can fix it via software or other easier means. If it's the HV battery itself, that's a much BIGGER issue.

If Rivian had delivered the LE I put a reservation for, like 27 Nov 2018 at 10pm est, I'd be more than willing to run diagnostics on battery drain as there are '3' batteries in the truck so to speak right?

So a question for those in the know on this: Does the HV battery continuously charge the 12v batteries, or does it wait for a certain 12V batt voltage before it kicks in the circuit to charge the 12V batts ie showing sort of "drained" state?

The truck's electronics are using the battery. They are giving off quite a bit of heat.

My truck only lost 1% overnight after noticing it had been able to enter sleep last night. Prior observations were more like 4-5%. Planning on doing some actual monitoring when I get the truck back, but it's a little difficult to do that sort of a thing accurately.

Thanks.
Agree difficult, but not impossible for Rivian.
They just pulled a co-worker's T "in from the wild" because of a "Battery" light and Vampires...he was losing 30mi/day, then it was down to 10mi/day...so I'll report when he tells me what they did and what his is now doing - probably next week after a few days at SC.
3mi/day is not bad (1%), I'd be happy with that if it's truly per 24hr period.

I have heard some people had their airbag leaking. So the compressor kept working trying to adjust. I am not sure if it does that when it is parked. Curious to see if it is something like that.

How did you manage to put it to sleep? My lullabies aren't working...

Sent it to Rivian Service. It's still there right now though.
