Do we know how many guides there are? and how many owners each of them have to take? They are supposed to be our contact once we get our vehicle right? Just wonder how that will be possible as more Rivian's roll off the line.

FWIW, when I have talked to my guide, it’s been quite loud in the background with lots of other guides on calls. It sounded like a significant call center operation (in Normal)

I think I've seen someone say they thought/were told there were about 75 guides (or was it 45?). Mine was working on something like 25-30 active deliveries at one point recently.

My guide is in Southern California. Feel bad.. just sent him a flurry of "pointed" texts about how frustrating it is that it's been a year since the "deep dive" e-mail was sent and we still have nothing on the R1S. Tried to emphasize that it was directed at Rivian and not at him.

Rivian’s goal with guides is to introduce a human element in order to increase the chance of error, randomness, inefficiency, and misinformation into the purchasing process. ?

Crystal ball says guide program will get ditched very soon. It's working poorly and will only get worse with scale.
the intent seems to have been to have a sort of concierge-lite type of arrangement, and it seems to have been the plan all along. They knew how many vehicles they’d be making, therefore how many customers there’d be. Suspect they didn’t plan for people who change their order 50 times a day, or for as many delivery disruptions(I.e. the apparent rate of transport damage).

Honestly Rivian should jettison the 'Guide model' and go with something as easy to decipher and follow as the Ford Order tracking system. My experience through the steps on Lightning order have been drama-free. And Ford sends notification emails when gates are passed.
