What firmware are you on? I don't see this being "fixed" in the latest firmware specifically. But now getting a bit worried as this is at least the second time I have heard this happen.

Did the truck sit for a while? Like days? Is it cold or hot where you are? Just wondering what variables might cause this.

Sat 6 hours, 200 mi range, updated the firmware a few days ago to 2022.15, temps in the 50s

Yep - this is why I'm only buying the gen 1 because I have other cars for backup. I suspect there will be a few things in the first year that will have to get worked out.

But the good news is most things can be improved with software fixes.

Update, stopped by truck today. It was totally dead, couldn't unlock doors or anything. Put a jump pack on the cables by bumper and was able to open doors at least. Pretty sure the 12v batteries are toast at this point as it doesn't seem to be charging them up.

If you could not do this initially, it may mean there were some juice in a capacitor somwhere holding on to the errors and sitting for a while must have discharged and cleared some errors. Please keep us posted.

Given the handful of people who have had this problem, I'm looking for a emergency solution. I have a jump start battery pack, but it'd be useless if it's locked somewhere inaccessible. Does anybody know of one that might be shaped such that it could be slid into the trailer hitch receiver? At least it would be out of sight, but accessible just by turning 2 screws with a coin or key.

I follow the Mach E forum. There are many reports of 12V batteries dying. Turns out many are the result of faulty "High Voltage Junction Boxes" HVJB for short. These devices pass current from the high voltage battery to the 12 volt battery to keep it charged. Many have failed, maybe by having the relays getting welded shut from electrical arcing. Many reports like this from Tesla and other EV owners. This is not a Rivian only problem.....

Does the spare tire location require power? Maybe there's space in there for tools and battery jump pack?

I really, really want a service manual. For this issue, we have 2 batteries and I'll bet they are not in parallel. Also, the wires to the back of the truck are not directly connected (0 volt reading). I really wish I could find out what is going on.

tailgate locks, and the tonneau cover is electric.

i guess you could keep the cover retracted.
