Any reports of people taking delivery of anything other than the powered tonneau? My order of preference is 1) manual cover, 2) no cover, 3, buggy and guessing soon-to-be recalled power cover.

Just curious if anyone has been able to order and receive delivery of 1 or 2?

I'm going for manual too. But for now no one know how that will look like or how it works. We are still waiting on that info.

Yeah. I'm in the July/Sept estimated delivery window so I'm starting to wonder if my configuration will determine whether or not my delivery happens. Don't want the power version but I'm also not going to wait six months (or six years) for the manual one...

Seems odd but I don't think I've seen cases of people getting delivery without a cover at all. So was mostly just curious if anyone has been able to secure a recent delivery without a power cover, given that no manual ones seem to have shipped yet.

I'm interested in (and have ordered) the manual tonneau cover.
I'd like to see if it's a flip/folding one with a lock or what?

The cover on my F150 has a lot of wear and tear, dings, dents and damage, due to loads, lumber and so on over the years.
With that I worried the electric one would not stand up to my own abuse.

I'd order with no tonneau if I thought it would be delivered without any delay compare to getting it with but I'd bet they won't start batch building trucks without the powered tonneau until Q1 2023 at the earliest.

Well in some cases the electric one does not even appear to stand up to routine opening/closing... So I think your concerns are warranted. I suspect this is just one of those things that seemed like a good idea on a whiteboard but isn't holding up to real world conditions and now they are stuck with it. Feels ripe for a recall.

Yes, this is my concern.

I'm in the same boat, very early res holder who has not received my truck and I really don't want a powered cover, there is a reason why Ford, Chevy, Toyota, etc. don't offer one. I also can confirm unless you are willing to change your config to the "Explore" model you get it whether you want it on not.

I have a feeling that if you ordered a manual cover, you would receive a car with no cover at all, and you get it later in the mail or install at a service center later.

The only info I have seen regarding the manual cover indicates it should be four panels that slide in to the grooves the power cover uses and these can be stored in the gear tunnel. But no one has seen one so ?‍♂

It's definitely something I'd discuss with a guide if I ever got one assigned but I don't live in Cleveland or California so I'm apparently SOL
I have a preorder of Feb 2019 with manual cover as well. If it takes a different process for not having a powered one, then I'm sure this is why my estimated delivery is early 2023.

There hasn’t been a single delivery of manual or no tonneau. It’s very likely you will get it when they start building Explore cars in 2023. I bet you’d be able to take delivery asap if you switched to power tonneau.

I would love this answer. I haven't seen anyone report this happening as of yet. Seems silly that you'd move to the back of the line for rejecting the power option but there's a lot of silliness so who knows.

You'd think that if they could bring it to market with minimal warranty concerns they would have done it. The fact that it's been left to the aftermarket is telling. Even more striking that they don't even offer an accessory version.
