Another miss I see is the lack of auxiliary buttons (soft or hard) and pre-wiring for those buttons. For things like external camp lights, aux lights, etc. The Wrangler, Bronco, and Raptor have these done at the factory. I use them on all the time on my Jeep.

Winch bumper that they have taunted us with.
Electro chromatic roof that was on the proto type.
Real buttons for basic features.
I would prefer real cup holders where the charging pad is that most people are complaining about.

Dare I say it a glove box?
Unlike most all other vehicles, I can't add an aftermarket winch to this truck because it can't handle the electrical draw ironically. Definitely need a Rivian solution on this one.

And like most every journalist review, YES to a few buttons!

I second things mentioned above.

If Rivian wants to de-content, the FIRST thing to go should be the gimmicky mechanical vent adjustments that most people say never stay put. This is a classic example of solving a problem that doesn't really exist.

Yeah this - at least Tesla had a bit of an excuse in that they were just varying fan speeds to direct air. This is all the same hardware as a manual vent + unnecessary motors. Just extra nonsense to fiddle with and break.

For me, it's a power running board. I feel like this should have been an extremely high priority on a luxury, ultimate off-roader. In terms of practicality it boggles my mind how they could be futsing about with camp kitchens and whatnot while there's still like a 12" clearence at the lowest ride height from the door sill.

It's also a cool "techy" feature that already exists and is kind of the best way to do a running board. I feel like Rivian could have easily built something into the molding even to maintain aerodynamics.

I'd want this 10x more than a powered cover over a manual one, for instance.

Completely unforgivable to have a car of this quality, this capable, this expensive and not have this thought through better.
Had these on my 2010 GMC Denali…switched them off most of the time…worked great, just seemed unnecessary, to me at least….

For me, bigger picture is to have an alarm system that actually protected my $80k vehicle!!!

Rear view mirror with a camera would be sweet. My boss has one in his Defender and it's really nice
Just sat in the new C8 which also has a video rear view mirror… it’s super nice, but you wouldn’t otherwise be able to see out the back window in that car so it makes sense… In the R1T visibility is super good, so makes no sense really. Plus you have like a 18 inch monitor that does the same thing!

Maybe we’ll be able to rename Alexa and be able to use her: “hey Wench, activate the winch…” ???

1 - Ditch the propriety crossbar mounting portals for a more universal solution. The current crossbars setup is way too limiting. I seriously don’t understand why they chose to go this route.

2 - Ideally, offer an option for a non-glass roof. Or, at the very least, provide a solution to control the effects of the sun.

3 - Some sort of full size spare tire option on the R1S, for those who will be getting off the beaten path.

V2H and ability to mount a front hitch for plowing (light plowing of my steep driveway). For these two reasons we may trade in for the lightning when the time comes, but I really do not want to.

Excuse me sir, the question was clearly for the ONE biggest glaring miss. Please choose one and edit accordingly.

However, it's a glowing endorsement that these insignificant things are all you have, and you clearly dug deep.

Umm, except when you have cargo on the bed, or the back of the R1S loaded with kid's shit.
