Broken tonneau, cracked roofs, pooling water, keys not working....taking delivery now seems like a joke.

You're in for a rude awakening if you think all the problems of today will magically disappear in 1 year. They are in growth mode. Maybe the tonneau will be fixed by then, but there will still be problems.

If the Rivian product was as shitty as you seem to believe, they'd be sued out of existence and their stock price would be in the single digits. You're either a troll or a total idiot. Not planning to hang around and find out which one... 3, 2, 1, ignore user.
Great, run away because I listed items/topics being discussed in this forum.

I edited that immediately. And I say we...because my friends and family know I want this truck and can see all the issues being discussed. Then I find myself explaining why I would still take delivery.
Take 'em out for a ride once you get it and you won't need to explain anymore. They'll be blown away :handsinair:

As a Rivian share holder I would hope quality is definitively improved over a 12-month time span. Hate me for post, but wowza, "let the dreamer dream" that we have a higher quality truck a year from now?
No one hates your post. You do you and don't worry about what other people think. Simple

I'm continuing to read an over abundance of messages about Rivians being delivered with broken tonneau, cracked roofs, keys not working, and a laundry list of other issues. Why on gods green earth would you accept that trash product?

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but we look like dummies to outsiders. No person, buying any brand, should accept garbage broken products on day one.

How desperate do you need to be to accept delivery on a truck with a broken power tonneau on day 1? That's ludicrous. Even then, most of you know things are going to break and factor that in your purchase. Beta testing at its finest...cool if you want in on that. "I'm using my tonneau cover as little as possible"...that sounds idiotic.

I'm reviewing with my guide today and may postpone this thing for another 12 month. I have no probelem just keeping my current car. Rivian needs to get their shi* together.
Just out of curiosity, what happened to the @Gsxr150 who wrote this post? https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/list-of-things-you-love-about-your-rivian.8285/

To get here from the following gave me the forum equivalent of whiplash:
Hey guys,

We've all had our crabby, negative posts, but I'm personally getting tired of the "this broke, and that broke", and "things I'd change" b-sessions. Rivian produced a killer company and an exceeding awesome vehicle.

Thank you for the great feedback. After this topic, which already the feedback has helped, I will remove myself from the forum. People aren't dealing well with a potential customer questing the product.
I don't think there's a need to remove yourself. People just tend to get animated when you call them idiots. Probably not the best way to start a thread btw.

Some I think are taking this thread very personal, which I think is a bit over the top. Skipping past the "heat" in your opening comment, you can see it for what it is, concern in the issues you've been reading about and should you delay as a result or just take delivery?

It is always good to have an open forum, where someone brings to light things that potentially affect the product we are gathered here for, good and the bad.

A shitty chef trying to hone his craft, doesn't want heaps of praise "yup tastes good" he wants the criticisms "hey too much salt" or "Chocolate covered Prawns?? wtf were you thinking?!" to better themselves.

You're clearly not respecting....
It's odd he owns Tesla yet believes what he reads online can be used to evaluate the frequency of vehicle problems.

But realistically anyone buying a new vehicle from a new company should expect higher than average problems. If Rivian can't build a higher quality vehicle after gaining a lot of real world experience there is not much hope for them being a viable manufacturer.

Max pack is a great tool to delay acquisition

You obviously where not on the tesla forums in the mid 20s you could cut and past your massage to 2016 on any model S.... I could have gone on chapter and verse about my old MS but why? in reality I was happy with it most of the time did it bug me sure did it make me hate Tesla no in fact I loved that car. On forums happy people rarely post its the people with issue that are triggered to post therefore the content is alway biased towards the negative.

I noticed that post because Gsxr150 has typically been critical of Rivian and when that post appeared I thought maybe there was a change in attitude because of ramping R1T deliveries, new OC availability, R1S customer deliveries, etc. Now I’m wondering if their account got hacked and someone else created that post. Going from strong negativity to bubbling positivity and back to strong negativity in the span of days struck me as odd.

Username tells me everything I need to know. Post confirms everything I knew.

Been enjoying my problem-free truck since June. Too busy having fun to be posting here. Back to the squidmobile GSXR Bro.

From the responses here, I get the impression that the majority of trucks are problem free. Would that be a reasonable conclusion? I've been getting a little nervous about potential problems with my truck when it arrives in a few weeks. Worried it might have to spend a lot of time at the service center. Good to read the positive experiences.
