Someone threw a McDonalds ranch dipping sauce packet all over my truck today. Gear guard didn’t catch the culprit. Although it’s probably a good thing because I wouldn’t have been very happy with who did it.

Unfortunately it's true. And you have to wonder if it was totally random, someone who hates EVs (why?), or someone who thought it was a gas truck. People suck.

There are some anti or more skeptical I guess of EV people I meet who ask questions about the Rivian. Definitely enough that I wouldn't leave the truck unattended for too long for in case something like this or keying would happen. I've learned telling them its built here in IL changes there view on it quite a bit not sure why. I also don't know why Rivian and Tesla doesn't promote more on American made. Its one of the reasons I bought it.

I think your caution is warranted. Unfortunately there are many people out there just looking to cause trouble. Too many questions about anything always = red flag for me.

It seems a new breed is coming out of the woodwork, too: EV enthusiasts who hate on EVs that aren't efficient enough. So the F-150/R1T get hate from people who drive Leafs/Model3s on the basis that they're still "guzzlers" in the EV space.

I have lived in areas considered “bad” where everyone was cool and respected other people’s property. I’ve also lived in areas considered to be very nice where you couldn’t leave your vehicle parked in your driveway without it being broken into at night. You just never know. People everywhere suck. I’m sure it’s hard to fly under the radar in a Rivian though. Even though it’s obviously just a truck it’s still new and different.

I don't eat that shit lol. This was at the grocery store across the street. However I still concur with your assessment.
