How warm does the heated steering wheel get?

Had our R1T for a few weeks and this morning was the first time it was cool enough for seat & steering heaters. Seats are fine but the steering wheel only got kind of lukewarm.

Am I way out of spec or is the steering heater on the R1T generally weak?

Definitely didn't seem as warm as my polestar but I'm also wondering if they control where the heat goes depending on detecting your hands in those positions. I move my hands around a lot.

I also just used mine for the first time, it seems like there are some spots that are warmer than others, but it also seems that even if you leave it on, the heating element isn't always engaged. I noticed it would feel warm for ~5 minutes, then start to cool off for a few minutes, then go back to getting warm again. I assume it's to prevent overheating the elements

It is a weakness of these things...lowest performing heated wheel I have had in a vehicle. Lukewarm is good way to say it.

I've used it a few times with no issues. not hot hot but pleasantly warm enough. As with all heated steering wheels I've ever used, there are warm and cold spots.

Agreed, not warm enough. I used to have a Chevy Colorado and that heated steering wheel was awesome. This one is just meh.

It seems comparable to our Volvo Recharge on low to maybe medium heat, but that thing gets hot when you put it on high. I wish Rivian had different settings and not just on/off.

I came from no heated steering wheel so it feels great to me. IT does seem to cycle and have a temp differential across the surface.
Does it get HOT? no
Is it better than a cold wheel? Absolutely

I agree it could use at least 2 different temp settings, similar to the heated seat adjustment.

It is weak. I am driving a RAM 1500 rental while my R1T is in the shop and this one is really heated!

Not nearly warm enough. Feels like a low/medium setting from my Volvo. The R1T could really use a higher setting.

Definitely not warm enough, and the innermost part seems to not get heated at all. Compared to my Model S which is very toasty and nice to hold on to.

It would help if Rivian adds a setting so that it can be activated whenever a remote command to heat cabin is sent. And seats too...
