Update done last night....kneel is excellent! The ingress on the Rivian is poorly designed for people over 6' tall, which requires and interesting body maneuver to avoid hitting your head...kneel solved it.......now get the APP to allow us control over charging parameters!!
Is was no gem for 5'3 wife either...

I think it sounds good the way it is and agree with cohall. I'd rather they spend the time working on other things like text integration or traffic cam, rather than tinkering with a kneel mode for a pickup truck. My wife is short, my kids are not quite 3 and 5, and they can enter the truck just fine in standard ride height. It's not as easy as our SUV, but I'm also aware of the fact that I bought a truck. I'm glad they integrated it for those that want it, but let's move on to other important matters.
"important matters" is really subjective. It may mean nothing to you, but world of difference for others. It also doesn't mean that they aren't working on lists you mentioned. It just aren't ready yet to merge into the master branch.

It's typical for development shop to create separate branch for feature, and when they are fully ready and testd, they merge into the master branch and release...

"Kneel Mode" just happens to be that one.. along with various other improvements..

Kneel mode seems to work well. It is far more comfortable getting in or out, and no longer makes me think there should be running boards.

Anyone figured out how to change the charging percentage in the app yet? My app is running 17.1, the update states it works at 18 and above, but 18 is not available in the App Store.
Think you answered your own question??

By the way, hopefully people aren't expecting it to be custom charge limits, because if the vehicle software didn't enable that, then the app can't do that. it will just present you with the same 70, 85, and 100, which is a good start. I'd expect a next step in a future update with customizable limits and departure timer.

Got my update last night. One thing they don't mention is there's some sort of minimum threshold before Kneel mode will engage from a stop. I was messing around in the parking garage right after update just going forward and back in and out of my spot and could not get kneel mode to engage. When I drove out to Bellevue to pick my partner up, kneel mode did engage.

It is a pretty fast drop down, probably ~2 seconds from hitting park? It lowers way down and is much easier to get into, even for me at 6"1'.

Good update. Looking forward to the next!
The release notes specifically say that you have to drive the vehicle first after the update before it's available. That's likely what happened.

It also says that it lowers to "low", so it's not "lowest". This was probably the compromise between height and speed. I wouldn't want to have to wait even a couple extra seconds to get out of the vehicle, it should be seamless.

Ah, somehow I missed the part about having to drive around a bit first. Thanks, definitely user error then.

I'm glad it doesn't go any lower. I think it's really good where they have it now, tho I do wish they'd just let each of us choose which pre-defined height we want to lower to (helpful to accommodate the biggest variety of users).

Anyone else need to do a reboot after the update? Updated mine last night, got in this morning and the speed of everything on the screen was slower than a TRS-80. Seems fine after a reboot.

This is the first I have seen them reference this camera. Hopefully that means ther are getting close to the hands free spec they reference for Driver+ on the web site.

As this will be the camera they use to ensure you are paying attention. It is possible that they are now using it to get data for implementing the feature and wanted people to know it is only active when Driver+ is engaged.
Maybe someone already said, but I bet they'd enable that camera and use recordings for face model training for what is/isn't classified as paying attention.

How unreliable would tank turn be? On a scale of 1 to powered-tonneau?
You'd be wishing for just a broken tonneau if they ever actually implement tank-turn. Imagine doing thank-turn on a slight hill... You're gonna spin, but downhill.

The only way tank turn could ever reliably work is if you had some crazy four-wheel steering that made it less of a slip-n-spin and more of a "all wheels point in a circle," meaning your front wheels would steer inward, 90 degrees from each other, and rears would steer outward, 90 degrees from each other.

Would no longer be tank turn, but "Dog Chasing Tail" Mode.

201 miles at 69%?! Are you in Conserve mode for this screenshot? In All-Purpose at 70% I'm like 185. Or maybe you have different tire setup than me... 20" AT?

Is kneel height essentially the vehicle going into its lowest ride height? Or does it go beyond that?

At 70% AP puts me at 193-196. It's based on your driving history over the last so many miles or some such and dynamically adjusts. Less pedal to the metal and that number should raise for you (though I drive it like I stole it AND Rivian's cash so not sure how you're getting so low ?)
