R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

I had a first mile drive in Atlanta this past Saturday. I took the advice of this forum and made a comment to the guide person about how after seeing them in person I may have to reevaluate my color choices, and asked about R1 shop access. She said if I was flexible in my build she could submit my name for access. When I was leaving I asked if I needed to do anything for shop access, and she said no, she would submit it and it would take a few days to hit.

Wait, you have a February 2022 reservation and got R1S Shop access and have already selected a Launch Edition vehicle? Dang. That's amazing for you, but it's kind of messed up from Rivian.

Edit: Please do not take that as anything against you. 100% happy for everyone on this forum. It's just a bit frustrating, and I know I'm less frustrated than people with earlier reservations than my July 1, 2021. I did a First Drive in Atlanta in a few months ago, made general comments about not being settled on my configuration yet and being flexible. The R1S Shop didn't exist yet though, so there was no way for me to ask for access to it. So now, I guess I need to go do a 2nd First Drive just to ask? Seems like a waste of everyone's time.

I just asked Rivian CS if I can do a "second" mile at the plant as I did probably one of the first in summer of '21 at the plant. Hoping they will at least let me look more closely in person if I can not test drive.

My guide recently told me that First Mile test drives are not currently available at the Normal plant or SC.

Several months ago when I inquired about a factory tour, I was offered (instead) an opportunity to visit the factory lobby and view vehicles on display in the lobby.

Shipping from Normal to CA on the train takes about 2 weeks. Then factor in 2-3 days for PDI before actual delivery appointment (assuming no issues discovered during PDI).

I snagged a granite LE model early last week that showed in Normal Illinois the day after. As of yesterday, mine is in Elgin Illinois, about 130 miles away from Normal. Probably getting ready to be loaded on a train. Maybe 2 weeks, then it gets PDI at the costa Mesa SC.

Just got invited today, i chose the LE rivian blue 22'a bm.
Same as my configuration but different wheels, i plan on either buying a set of 21s and selling the 22s or trading for 21s with someone local.

I did 3 "first drives", I just got access a week later after my 3rd drive, i bluntly asked for access to the shop, the employee said he will see make a note of it. I'd say go for it.
CS said you can only have one first drive per reservation, so I made another 1k deposit, booked a first drive, then cancelled that said deposit ?
