I took off the panel and it’s sitting it the garage. It’s a 2022 Launch Edition w the Reg underbody panels

Before you come down on Rivian OP bought his truck second hand. From the look of things part of the panel is completely missing, I guess it fell at some point and was ripped off??

Unscrew the rest of the broken panel and remove it. I did this after this happened to me because it started to fall down and drag on the road.

Rivian also confirmed there's no safety issue and there's no harm driving it as you normally would.

Everything is water tight. I also drove the vehicle for a couple thousand miles like that waiting for the service appointment and there was no indication that any debris was even hitting that area.

yes. those panels are merely cosmetic although they probably help with aerodynamics.

Same thing happened to me back in February. Service was very helpful and worked to rectify as quickly as possible.
