Hi, I will be pulling a 6'x12' uhaul cargo trailer for a 185 miles trip in my R1s 21" wheel for the first time. The additional weight will probably be around 3K lbs. There is a EA station which is 30 miles from our house and another one at 120 miles after that. Do you think it is capable? I heard that towing range estimate is not very accurate.

Thanks

I've towed that exact trailer a few times now.

I recall about 150-170 miles of range at 100% SOC.

X2 regarding obeying 55. Makes a huge difference.

Should be fine. Double-check plugshare checkings before heading out to ensure both stations are working. I wouldn't go over 65mph between the two chargers to be on the safe side.

You got it.

Tow - Definitely want all four motors engaged for maximum traction and stability.

Well, I tried towing my McLaren trailer (pictured) a Timpte 718- dual axle #1600 empty, #5000 with the 720s on it. I took it empty this weekend with the intent of picking my McLaren at my Michigan house, and bringing it back to IL, it's 126 miles door to door.
I started the day with 95% charge and took the R1S to work and then back home to load up(32 Miles). Prior to hooking up the trailer I was showing about 282 miles of range. As soon as I hooked up the trailer it dropped to showing 150. Once I got on the highway, the range climbed to showing 302 miles or range.....so, I thought, great no problem! However once I went about 60 miles doing about 70mph the range really started to drop. I was keeping an eye on the efficiency gage and seem the sweet spot was about 65-68MPH (1.6miles/KWH) at a steady pace. So, I got there but as I pulled up to my house the message popped up with low battery and switching to efficiency mode.
Long story short.... I left my trailer up in Mi and I'll use my wife's Grand Cherokee to bring the loaded trailer back, as I now have little confidence this thing an make the trip with the car loaded on the trailer.
I'm pretty disappointed, as it really does pull the trailer well, has the electronic breaking built in and it's such a good looking rig!

Start at 100% and you can make that trip home with no problems.

Well, that got me worried. I don't see much drag with your trailer.

You are saying there's an EA station 120 miles from your home? You should be able to make that even if you drop to 1mi/kWh efficiency (which you should be above if you keep you speed reasonable).

Make sure your vehicle tires and the trailer tires are max inflated for the load you will be carrying/pulling.

Agree with the above. Charge to 100% and keep speed to a reasonable level and you shouldn't have any trouble. Unless I was carrying a lot of extra weight in the cab I'd probably skip the 30 mile away charger and head right to the second one (which I assume is 150 miles away from start point, if I'm reading your post correctly?). Although that might be a bit butt-clenching since this is your first time doing it. ?
