I maybe need to run a hose on it to cool it down to touch it. (ha ha). It's sitting in the sun and it's not particularly hot today maybe low 70's.

Nuts, when I took a truck from the shop I had to remove all my accessories. Now I have to wait till these show up in the gear shop like a chump.

i had to do the same but then i just asked my Guide and she added it to my order after i had selected the truck from the Shop.

The cover price should be based on your truck pricing. $800 if the preprice increase R1T is what ya got.

I have had my truck for about 7 months, and did not order to tonneau initially, so I'd imagine they'll want me to pay the current full price from the gear shop, if it ever gets in there. I had been hoping out for a cap to come out on the aftermarket, but we'll see when that happens.

Wow - You got really lucky, we asked for this but were told that we should do it when we picked the truck up from Normal - Picked it up on the 13th and were told that it was not going to start shipping until mid next month and that the only option was to get from the gear shop. Going to reach back out and see if we can get any clarity, but along with a tailgate that came out of alignment on the freeway driving home kinda tempted to return the truck unless we get a solid answer soon (its only a 90 minute drive for us).

Pics from Reddit posted in another thread here show that yes, it appears to fit flat on the bottom of the gear tunnel.

Same for me. Adventure Gear on one's original order was supposed to transfer the a Shop order. That didn't happen for me so I asked my guide about it and she added it back on to the order.

It's about the only thing for which she's been good. Other than that she seems to know nothing, can't find any info and relates that lack of info to me in a short one line email. I need to change the delivery address for the tonneau. Her response was a one liner, “noted.” So is the delivery address changed? No idea.

This is not the case. My pre-order had the powered tonneau which Rivian automatically changed to the manual. When my truck was built my guide recommended that he remove the manual cover as they did not yet have an eta and my delivery could be scheduled, I obviously said yes go ahead. Reached out to my guide the other day asking about the manual covers and he said I would not get the pre-order pricing I'd have to pay the full $1800 price, I said WTH, he sat in silence.

Not worth anywhere close to $1800 so I bought Bill's version, it'll be here Monday ?

I fully agree with you. $800 seems OK; $1,800 is stupid.

$1800 is crazy pricing for 4 slats and a storage bag.

Rivian missed an huge opportunity. They could have designed the slats to do double duty as a camp table.

I can guarantee that the aftermarket/entrepreneur will soon offer folding legs that will turn the slat(s) into an awesome camping table.

Glad to see these are shipping (finally!). I’m an Autumn 2019 preorder (Feb 2023 delivery) and had originally spec’d the power tonneau (like everyone else). When I settled on a Large/Quad config in January, my guide instructed me to add the manual tonneau at that time if I wanted one and that it would ship separately when ready “sometime this summer”. He noted that buying as part of the truck order ensured it would be fulfilled sooner than if I waited and bought from the Gear Shop down the road (order holders would be prioritized over a la carte buyers), in addition to securing preorder pricing ($800).
