I noticed the same. I believe it was due to recirculation being turned off. I had to enable it a few times to get it to stick. In addition I think auto mode messes w/ the recirc status, it feels glitchy.
Hmm this is making me not want to click on the “update” icon.

The AC system seems to take the recirc setting as merely a suggestion. I keep catching it “outsmarting” me and making loud noises. This is since this winter (I haven’t got the new update yet). It’s annoying.

Like just right now, I had the fresh air setting, but the amount of f**king racket in my car told me it had switched to recirc and I toggled it to get a quieter truck.

Ugh, why, this is my most often used Alexa feature in the car besides weather forecast..

"NOTE
Alexa no longer supports timers, alarms, and reminders."

Yes, why would they remove it? Seems really strange. Overall as Amazon is cutting Alexa resources all of Alexa functions will likely keep decreasing.

I can understand if they are cutting addition or development of new features but why cut something that is already done and works so well..

..ah, let me guess .. they will probably monetize it and charge for these "premium" features in the future..

Why so negative? Rivian has yet to charge for in vehicle over the air access and has just indicated the adapter for nacs will be free of charge to existing Rivian owners. So far they have been reasonable when it comes to charging for extras so the constant ranting on these forums about Rivian trying to get into our wallets is getting old.

I guess Im just pessimistic about loss of simple basic features (which don't require OTA) due to technical reasons. I guess Alexa is complicated, and it's not that simple. I wouldnt mind paying for NACS adaptor to reduce burden on Rivian since someone has to pay for the hardware cost.

Yeah why so negative? They haven’t even charged for things they said they would like charging on the RAN or cellular service.

Installed. Got the AC compressor excessive noise on very first drive after install. Clearly a software issue made worse with this release. No prior issue with this in 10 months of ownership.
ditto here... initiated a service ticket on this. Customer Service just called and asked for a video of the noise... they have "forwarded to an engineering team for review". Waiting feedback from that effort.

Really? Hmm. we used the timer a lot as an egg timer when cooking stuff at the campsite. Roll the windows down and it's easy.

Update hasn't popped for either of my R1 vehicles yet though.

Update: Rivian Customer Service just called back... they identified the "jet turbine" noise as the battery conditioner rather than the A/C system. Rivian stated this is not "abnormal" on very hot days - and it has been 95F+ here. They suggested waiting until next OTA update - which might alleviate the issue. Unless it gets progressively louder, I'm OK with this course of action as I'm 3.5 hr drive from nearest Service Center.
