Best thing about the Shasta RAN is skipping the Anderson EA

I'm happy the Traverse City RAN is online for my fellow R1 owners that are traveling up here as they had limited options before. I plugged into the 1A (pull through) tower yesterday afternoon and it immediately changed to UNAVALAIBLE. I then tried 2C and it worked like a charm - 218 kw max at 44% SOC.
Come on up this weekend and watch the Thunderbirds fly in the air show!

End of quarter update:

2nd quarter saw a little faster pace, as expected. Definitely not the pace we're all hoping for, but maybe the start of the real ramp in installs? If there's not a big increase next quarter, I think it's a clear sign that they've significantly slowed their short-term ambition for the buildout. On 12/31/22, there were 9 open RAN stations. 23Q1: 11 added. 23Q2: 18 added, including 5 in just the last week.

As TeamEV noted, Rivian also updated their map yesterday, adding 7 more "coming soon" sites. Still not clarity on exactly what "soon" means in this context, but I still suspect it's meant to be something in the next 6 months, give or take.

So, what does the RAN look like right now?

• 38 open sites
• Nearly all have 6 chargers
• Chargers by state:
  • CA 10
  • OR 7
  • MI 5
  • CO 4
  • AZ 4
  • VA 3
  • GA 2
  • SC 1
  • NC 1
  • WA 1
• 27 sites "coming soon"
• 18 sites known to be under some stage of construction
• 47 sites with some other public information from a permit, utility request, bid request, etc.

Also of note: There are currently 35 open service centers and 34 more listed on Rivian's map of future service centers.

We don't know, and any data we might try to interpret would be useless right now. The coming soon map was first public in January so we went from 0 to xx coming soon overnight with no way to know when each station was internally thought of as "coming soon". This latest batch of 7 additions will be the first time we really have a sense of how long new additions might take.

Would like to know the answer to this question. I get that it’s economical to do these in clusters, but this is getting ridiculous. Sorry for the rant and I’ll take a break from this thread.

I'm guessing "Atlanta" is the Cumberland location.

There was a permit for Dateland at some point. Does anybody know if that that site was scrapped in favor of Gila Bend or is Dateland still going to happen eventually?

The Twitter tracker does not show Dateland, it does show Phoenix and Sedona as planned.

Shasta photo. This makes 16 of 38 for me.

Tesla SC in the other side of the same lot. Groceries, restaurants nearby. Easy off i5.. Now I just need to find a car wash.

Edit: Also notable is that I drove from Sandy OR to Chico CA only using RAN (Madras, Crescent, Klamath Falls, Shasta) and will use Truckee RAN tomorrow. All chargers worked perfectly.
