The only thing keeping Lucid alive is the Saudi Public Investment Fund owns 60% of the company. Otherwise they would be buried by now. I'm rooting for them, but they seem like a zombie company at this point.

Rivian has nothing to gain and everything to lose by merging with Lucid. I hope OP was joking…

Why would Rivian want to get into business with a failing company? I wouldn't touch Lucid with a 10ft pole at this point. Maybe Aston can save them but I doubt it.
Yeah - I'm onboard that train. I'd go out to a 20 foot pole.

Why doesn't Rivian also just join forces with Fisker, while they are at it?

If Rivian was going to undergo an acquisition, Lucid would be the last one out there that they would be interested in.

You just reminded me that one evening, perhaps with a glass or three of decent zinfandel in me, I put a reservation down on a Fisker Ocean when my wife said “ooh!” at a picture of one.

A reservation that I shall now go cancel.

I don't know if that would be a good idea. Rivian is truck company that is doing well at this point. They should remain a truck company.

Maybe not merge, but I would be interested in some sort of technology sharing agreement between the two companies. Lucid making it or not is a little grey right now (depends on SA continuing to pump in money), but there is no denying their technologies and efficiencies are incredible and industry leading. Would love to see their powertrain and battery tech makes its way towards Rivian.

Rivian should join forces with Lucid and that would give them the market for turcks, vans, and cars!
Not sure how Rivian benefits from merging with another startup that has limited resources/cash. What Rivian needs the most is enough capital to execute on its own strategic plans - namely getting the R2 platform across the finish line as soon as possible.
