seems like a troll post based on this being the buys first/only post and literally just joined the forum but ill entertain it on the off chance he responds to his own thread.

you need provide more info otherwise your rant is useless:
what wheels do you have (20, 21, 22)?
what drive mode, ride height, and regen setting do you have most of the time?
what kind of driving have you done in those 14k miles?
is it even wear across all 4 tires or specific ones and is the wear even on a tire or on the inside/outside?

Then factor in the acceleration of that vehicle compared to the R1T.

Many trucks, of all kinds, they are not cars, but they weigh many times the weight. Trash trucks can weigh 10 times, and get 40 K miles

Real questions and I don’t intend to be snarky.

What tires do you have? How many (be honest)“spirited“ starts and stops a day are you doing? Could it be an alignment problem?

Reason I ask is I’ve got 15k on my 20s and they still look great, but I pretty much drive like grandpa.

Getting a 7,000+ lb vehicle up to speed and stopped again requires a lot, the 835hp makes it feel effortless but it’s not, the tires are paying for it.

21s. And I am pretty conservative with my driving. No fast starts and stops. I like seeing how many miles I can get out of the vehicle. Very disappointing.

if you had read the whole post you would have seen the response. But if you are interested in more detail here it is:
21 tires
Auto adjust ride height
Conserve or all purpose

You should not be in conserve unless you are at a constant speed on a highway and need the extra range to make it to the next charger.

They really really need to add a giant popup warning for this mode.

To elaborate and beat a dead horse:

Conserve mode disconnects the rear motors to improve efficiency.

The vehicle weighs 7000+ pounds

With the 2 motors disconnected you are requiring the front 2 tires to bear all the force required by accelerating and braking.

No tire will withstand this. The mode is made for highway driving at a constant speed. At a constant speed there is much less force applied to the tires.

The tires on the R1T wear inordinately. I have never had a vehicle that needs new tires at 14k miles. Rivian needs to warranty the tires and put better tires on an expensive vehicle. Very disappointed in the quality

I have 21s with 22,000 miles and still have more than half tread remaining. Expecting to get 40,000 miles. I do drive easy and rotate tires every 5,000 miles. I have been pleasantly surprised by the tires.

This probably was already answered but the middle tread wear is a classic case of over-inflated tires. I do not pay too much attention to what the VIN plate says, but use common sense and actual wear pattern.

Perhaps its a combination of over-inflated tire, driving in FWD (Conserve) mode in the city driving where you have acceleration and deceleration/regen, and how you drive, in terms of how you lift-off the accelerator pedal and high regen setting.

Sorry to hear about the excessive wear. Regardless of what anyone says, a vehicle should not eat up tires under the normal driving - whatever mode you are in.

My rears were at 10/32, fronts at 9/32 at 14k miles, admittedly I drive pretty conservatively, but have gone off roading several of times. 20" AT. Much depends on your driving habits.

Just had my first rotation at 7,500 on the 22" sport tires. Was down to 7/32 and 6/32 on all 4 tires which is pretty frustrating to say the least so I am seeing some pre-mature wear.

I've only used conserve twice on 2 road trips with the truck, otherwise I am in AP virtually 100% of the time. No offroading at all really other than gravel roads.

I think you would really need to be over inflated. I'm basically close to max pressure and don't see any extra wear in the middle. I see pretty even wear.

That is lousy! Rivian needs to figure this out. This is not right and way to expensive.

This month a Rivian mobile tech delivered a spare wheel to my home. I noticed his front tires (20" ATs) were very new, while his rears looked fairly worn (though the wear was even). He explained that the service center had just replaced the fronts, after 46,000 miles in one year, while the rear tires would probably last another 5000 miles. He told me that the tires had never been rotated.

If you have the 20"s buy the non-OEM variant from tirerack or discount tire... that version carries the 50,000 mi treadwear warranty that the OEM variant Rivian sells does not carry. That's not going to stop them from wearing out quickly, but if you wear out 50K warrantied tires in 14K miles you will get a very decent prorated warranty credit towards your next set.
