Applying light pressure (from either the inside or outside) will allow the door to open.camping, and you use your phone to open the liftgate. Lo and behold it partially opens and then closes on you. Now you have to climb out of the side doors
Is this all just speculation or what? This data needs to be sent to Rivian.
They don't have data except for level.
In the exactly 4 months since we picked up our R1S I've had this happen about a dozen times exactly as Tony R1S posted in our flat garage and when on other flat parking lots (like Costco yesterday). Sometimes we see the "obstacle detected" message, but other times we don't - it just opens about 2 inches and stops. On the 3rd try it seems to give me the "if that's what you really want" finger and opens the whole way. Because I can't open the rear liftgate when my garage door is closed we tend to use the frunk much more frequently. I'll keep track of liftgate issues as well.Today, was a little more finicky, popped open about 2-3 inches then stopped, second button push blinked lights, but no movement, then finally worked on 3rd try. It seems to be gradually getting much worse...
It has been logged as a service item already and was checked out last Monday, but as I had expected, no issues found. They cycled it 20 times and at various incline angles. I'm going to open another ticket for my next visit late Jan.Without a request for service they might not think it warrants a OTA fix. If it's even possible?
