I know this is a little off topic, but I don't mind the front-end as much as the back-end. Every time I'm behind another R1 on the road I think "Geez, does mine look like that?". The rear end of the R1s look so squished and just don't match the rest of the vehicle. The photos don't do it justice, but when you see it on the road, the dimensions just look off...It's like it is too small and squished from both top to bottom and side to side. The body of the vehicle is much wider than the rear window/hatches on both the R1T and R1S...that combined with the rear windows being fairly short and a backend that is very high off the ground all results in a very squished appearance. Anyone else?

Curious how you got this effect?
It's actually very simple and inexpensive. I can simply remove it anytime. I applied a layer of clear yellow VViVID tint, cut out to barely cover the hole pattern, then I apply VViVID Vinyl wrap over it (with cutout hole pattern). Takes 10 minutes to apply. VViVID brand. Costs less than $20 from Amazon.

Going to take the plunge and give this a try.

I've ordered the black vinyl online for $30 + $45 for the Abstract Ocean light bar vinyl and am going to give this version a shot.

Have used photoshop to play with this since I got the truck a year and a half ago to try and come up with something to break up my all white front end, but hated each version I came up with.

This is the first one I think might actually not look bad in real life and possibly even somewhat factory like?

So, going to give it a try. What do I have to lose, $75? Easily worth it and more so if I like it and keep it. Otherwise, it's just vinyl, can be easily removed if I don't like it.

I'm not great with vinyl or PPF, but did PPF my front end and it came out well. Thinking this should be doable? Plan is to line up one of the straight edges of the vinyl roll I get with the bottom of the headlights. That will already be perfectly straight and require no cutting above a painted surface. Then will just need to cut around the headlights and the light bar. The light bar strip will be a separate piece. I think I can do it!! LOL. Maybe! I think I can, I think I can.......

EDIT: ADDED THE BLACKOUT TO THE LIGHT BAR - NEW PHOTOS (Should remove any mustache talk!)

Has anyone done anything to make the front end look less cartoonish? Any cool wraps, deletes, etc that temper the feminine look? I’ve had my R1T for about 6 months and just bought a R1S but the front end kills me.
Well, went from photoshop rendering to real life. Looks pretty much the same as it did in the rendering. Now just have to decide if I like it or not. Can say, I don't LOVE it. Doesn't jump out at me and say "That's it, that's how it should be". But, don't think it looks bad either. Just have to decide which I prefer better.

Haven't got the light bar done yet, obviously. Wanted to try it with just the "grille" area filled in as that's most "factory like". Covering the running light, might make it look better. If the renderings are any indication, which they were for the lower portion, then maybe it will tie in better and tip the scales in that direction for me to leave it.

Good thing is, it's just black vinyl. Very easy to remove. I put it over the PPF already there so I don't have to redo that if I change my mind and remove it.

I'm generally not very good at wraps or applying PPF, especially if there are any curves. But, this turned out to be pretty easy. Total time, about an hour. Since I knew I would have no way of cutting a perfectly straight line for the bottom portion of it, I simply used the non-cut edge of the vinyl roll on the bottom. Then an exacto knife to lean against the headlights to cut around them. Same for the top edge along the light bar.

Used a LOT of soapy spray to keep it wet so if I screwed up, would be easy to move around to line it up, but was easier than I thought it would be with the curves / creases that are in there. Used a strong hair dryer to heat up the vinyl, but probably could have made it work without it. I I think I got all the bubbles out. Will check it tomorrow in the daylight.

I generally suck at photoshop too, so not sure if I'm more proud that my photoshop rendering came out pretty spot on or that I was actually able to apply the vinyl without screwing it up!! LOL

Will add the Abstract Ocean Rivian cutout vinyl to the light bar, probably tomorrow. That one I know will be easy to apply.

Do I have to say it? I can't gif it, pretty sure that'll get me at least a warning from Admin.

It rhymes with Shmidtler mustache.

Went right over my head!! Your prior gif post appeared to be supportive of it? This one sounds like maybe not? Am interested in honest CONSTRUCTIVE opinions / feedback, good or bad.

I'm not being critical of it, just pointing out initial reaction/thoughts when I look at it. Charlie Chaplin rocked the same one, he was a good dude!

As a fellow mustach rocker, I approve ???

Here is another, less radical idea. I couldn't look at my front for more than two seconds without getting croos-eyed. It now takes 10 seconds, enough to get around the truck and enjoy the rest of the exterior.

Thanks for putting that picture in my head - that helps! From here on out I shall think of it as Daffy Duck with a mustache.
