Manual Tonneau Cover on Back Order

I pre-ordered the manual tonneau cover along with my R1T and received delivery of the truck on November 4th without the cover. After a number of inquiries all my Rivian Guide can tell me is that the current status is “on back order with no ETA”. Wondering if others are having the same issue and if it would be best to just request a refund?

Grabbed the Interrobang manual one and it's fantastic, although new to pickup trucks and tonneau covers myself.

If you paid the latest price for it ($1600?) I would say you could do better with the Interrobang or one of the other options. The Rivian cover is nice and mine has not broken yet, but many others have had the latching/ release mechanism break without much effort. I only paid $800 for mine so I will ride it out until it is no longer usable.

There’s many of us who had the truck for nearly a year if not over till the manual tonneau arrived. They may be having some build issues which is slowing things down. For current pricing there may be better alternatives as others have noted.

Thanks for the responses. I paid $800.00 so I might ride it out and see what happens. They will probably just cancel my order at some point.

If you ordered it with your truck they’ll get it to you. Maybe even with an updated design as some are having issues with the unlock pull mechanism breaking.

I picked up truck 31st Dec 2023 and was not told or aware the cover would not be there. Rep just shrugged and said could be two weeks, could be two monthss.

I gave it couple week but I've asked for refund (no idea if I can even do that) as I want a cover for some planned trips and based on many posts, the interrobang one looks to better quality, so hope to put refund towards that. I know they have had delays too but at least they give you some estimate as to when.

It’s how it is for everyone. They ship when they have stock from supplier and they are working down the list. Guides do not have visibility of stock or shipping list. They can only confirm that you’re owed. Patience.

I’m basically in the same boat. Took delivery Nov. 30th and I expected to wait like others have but I didn’t expect no info at all from Rivian, not even an ETA. I’m left to assume it will be s00n……

Yeah, exactly the same situation for me, with delivery 30 December 2023. Please report back here if they allow cancel for refund.

speculation but based on timing of manual being on back order, its likely due to them rolling out the new powered tonneau covers. i believe they use the same slats so its likely sourced from the same supplier. looks like at this point there's only so many of those to go around. either way, youd of thought Rivian would have gotten that supply chain figured out since they have had so long to prep them.
