Affordable Winter Wheels Setup: Ram 2363

I dropped everything off at Belle Tire. They road force and didn't give me any issues but I didn't ask to have them mount the wheels on the truck.

I had to tell DT they were for my 2012 dodge Ram 1500. That was for Falken Wild peaks. 275/ 60 / 20. When I Initially told them they were going on a Rivian they said they could not do it so I ordered on line and when I went there to have them mounted I told them they were for a Dodge. I took the tires home and put them on my R1T myself. That was back in September so they may have changed the policy.

I finally got around to painting and installing my winter set for a trip to Mammoth this past weekend. The traction on snow and ice was incredible. I didn't notice any meaningful change to range vs the 22" wheels either. Will post efficiency metrics next time.

What are these tires? And where does your rig normally reside?

I don't think those will fit. The spoke design is just different enough.

These are the deceptive round ones, you want the spoke meeting the wheel to be even and flat.

How do you feel about running these winter tires in the mild coastal climate? How many months a year would you say you keep them on?

I contemplated straight winter tires but feared degradation by warmer temps down low before they reached end of tread life. The way our rigs chew through tires, might not be an issue though.

I'm pretty sure no, could be wrong. I think most black ones are sprayed aftermarket.

I think I'll leave them on when I'm heading up on back-to-back weekends. I can swap them in ~30 mins, so I might get into that habit, too.

Thanks for the guidance on this thread -- I completed the craft project, but unfortunately I don't think I'm going to keep them. Was a fun scavenger hunt and process to get them looking good, but the wife doesn't like the look and wants to get one of the other after market options. Oh well, I tried! Selling them over on the marketplace thread if interested.
