My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Getting super tired of hearing sloshing after every storm. Truck sits out in rain, next day I’ve got water in the doors.

Anyone have an idea how to drain the doors without needing to go to the SC? My passenger door will drain if I park ass-end downhill and I pry the gap between trim panels. Driver’s side is tighter and therefore unable to separate.

Ideas? I’m sick of scheduling service appts to drain water from my (@&$*@ door.

(&!@#*&!

Thanks

Are you sure this isn’t a part of the ”sounds of Rivian” and it’s functioning as intended, keeping you calm as you drive with the sounds of ocean waves in your doors?

My strategy is usually a couple firm start-stops which seems to slosh things out.

Honestly I've mostly stopped worrying about it, it's kind of charming if you squint at it just right, like my truck has a bowl full o' jelly. (Ok, that's a stretch.)

They should have replaced your plugs and it shouldn't happen again. Is it still happening? Push service to put in valves.

The more important question is why is so much water getting inside your doors?

YES - I have asked this question on several occasions as well!!! Should drain around the door, not literally into the frame.

So help me if they add a “flowing water” sound for slow-speed driving (instead of the soft “whooshing”) I’m gonna take Long Dog’s happy hat off.

Gonna need a slide-out toilet from your gear tunnel.

I've had my R1T one full year now, and we've had plenty of rain.. never had any sloshing around in the doors. Eventually you're going to get mold growing in there to say nothing about electrical connector and switch contact corrosion. I'd start busting Rivian's balls on this issue.

If you're adventuring in the desert, and get stranded (no EV charging ya know) you'll appreciate the foresight of your Rivian to store fresh rainwater for your survival.

Literally just got my truck back yesterday regarding this issue for the 2nd time now. First time was 6 months ago and they only addressed the affected door. Second time they replaced the plugs in all the doors. I hope it lasts "forever".

Just remove the rubber glands. Countless vehicles get by with just open slots in the sheet metal.
Do those vehicles advertise the ability to drive through 3 ft of water? It needs to keep water out but also let water out.
