Great news! 'Ships by April' means that all of the backend software and billing mechanisms should be ready to go sometime in March.

I strongly suspect that NACS will be a part of the R2 reveal: "R2 is the first non-Tesla vehicle to be announced with native NACS. One more thing...R1 owners can order their adapter today!"

April isn't really February. Interesting that Ford is indirectly blaming Tesla for the delay here.

Aren't we supposed to get them for free?

Yes, they will be free but you will still need to order them (i.e. confirm that you want the adapter and provide your mailing address).

It will be. I was told by a Rivian contact a couple months ago that the R2 and NACS were coming in March.

SuperChargers Open to NACS and Other EVs

Looks like Tesla has opened up their network to support the adapter.
It's nice that Tesla has a filter for this now and confirms what we knew all along about v2 vs v3.

But it's still inaccurate isn't it? Just having a NACS port or adapter doesn't mean you can charge at the supercharger.

I am getting my adapter in April, but can test if the Tesla app or the Ford app allow payment regardless of the vehicle type. As soon as my Mach E gets the OTA for Plug & Charge at Tesla, it is rolling out today, I will see if that works at Magic Dock sites.
