I assume this means the new vehicle software will be rolling out VERY soon (if it hasn’t already). It would be weird to have this visual discontinuity for long…

Also, not sure I love the new look, at least on the phone, but I am excited to see what the new vehicle OS will look like and what functionality it will add after such a long time since the last update (compared to their typical update cadence anyways). I think the cartoonish look will look cool animated with motion (from examples I’ve seen so far, anyways).

Anyone else notice the app does not show EA charging stations on the map?

It does on mine. Something is weird though. When I only select "EA" in the filters and apply them, I get the "something went sideways" message. But, it still displays the EA chargers (even the one that just burned up a R1T in Richmond VA).

Have you tried restarting the software stack (hold the outer buttons on the steering wheel for 15 seconds)? My software has been very stable until the last update and now there's a couple of fairly regular gremlins that show up in my Nav...and the restart makes them to away.

I was talking about the app on my phone, not the truck. Should probably reset as you suggest occasionally anyway.

From the email I got on the 6th:

"Your Rivian is always getting better

You’re already familiar with how your Rivian gets better over time, thanks to frequent software updates with the ability to add new features and streamline performance.

In an upcoming software update, look for the same new designs on your driver and center displays that are launching with our second generation R1 (powered by Unreal Engine)."

Ill have to look into what else is in this update because I am definitely NOT a fan of the graphics "downgrade" and prefer the old font .... I will hold off unless there is some serious improved functionality included as well

With you. Has there been a change on the design team? Busy interior stitching, odd plaid floor mats, these cartoon graphics. Seems disjointed with a splash of aunt Edna as opposed to the previous clean, cool, and adventurous.

FWIW, the tartan interior design has been in development for well over a year. And it was much more prevalent in earlier iterations, rather than just the floor mats and stitching patterns that they ended up with.
