Just an FYI if anyone is ever in a funeral procession with their Rivian R1T but could be a similar issue for the R1S. The little magnetic flags funeral homes use to mark cars in the procession doesn't work very well because of the different materials.

In my R1T, the magnetic flag wouldn't work on the hood or anywhere else. The only spot I could find that it would work is on the curved part of the painted trim on the roof in between the panoramic glass and door.

Oddly specific, I like that.

Most cars now-a-days use a LOT of aluminum panels to reduce weight. No doubt EVs do this as much as possible. Aluminum is non-magnetic, isn’t as strong as steel, and costs a lot more to have body damage repaired. The location you found that is magnetic could possibly have needed strengthening for crash or body rigidity. Thus Rivian used steel.

That makes sense. Just a random use case of what was previously a given on a vehicle is not the case.

Had the same issue. I just put on the hazards and stayed between other cars in the procession.

I’ve had a similar issue before. I just turned on my hazards and stayed close to the other cars in the procession. If you're also looking for ways to manage expenses, you might want to check out low cost funerals to keep things budget-friendly.
