I'm not sure where you are from, but that is not the case in rural Florida. My Silverado 2500 has a row of 5 LED marker lights across its roof and are not a warning of it being anything. These lights were installed at the factory by Chevrolet.Those are exactly what I am talking about. These lights are intended to warn other drivers that the vehicle which carries them is wider than normal. By putting them on vehicle which is not required to carry them you are essentially creating a false alarm that dilutes in a small way the safety effect of those lights on wide vehicles.
