My dealer told me most repairs are scheduled out by about 1 to 2 weeks as well, not months. I like the fact that there are 5 jeep dealership within a 20 mile distance of my house. Not to mention the tons of aftermarket parts available for Jeeps and the other very important fact that I can order almost any part for the vehicle from a local jeep dealer and via online parts sellers and parts and wiring diagrams are freely available online. Rivian is positively anal when it comes to keeping stuff like that secret to common owners.
We have done alot to the Jeeps...which is alot of fun. Lifted...bigger tires...steel bumper with winch, etc...

And ride quality is shocking good and noise free suspension and no rattles at 55k... even in the lifted Rubicon on 35" K02's.

Thanks for the advice on keeping the suspension components tight, will definitely keep an eye on that stuff, and I always rotate my own tires, so that's not an issue.

I did do a VIN check for my vehicle on the battery fire list, model year 2024's are not recalled, they already have the new packs installed. But, thanks for mentioning it :)
Yep. I think you are on the right track getting a '24. There are screaming deals on them right now. I'm actually considering trading in my 22 on one because the warranty is almost up, and it will have the "safe" battery and new locker sensor design not too mention a few other niceties. I am not too excited about moving my lift and suspension parts over though.

If you do have any alignment/wobble issues feel free to send me a message on here. I've had two 4XEs and helped rid a few of my other friends Jeeps of the issue.

One thing I would do asap is check the torque on the track bar. That tends to be loose from the factory and as it wears, the bushing ovalizes. If the damage is too extensive you'll have to buy a new track bar or damage the mating bracket on the axle.

Whoa! Sorry to see you go - especially after all our vampire drain collaboration! I think we were early on the getting the wristbands from eBay last year too!

I do like the 4XE and hope you enjoy yours. Congrats. Hope to see you back in an R2! I have really appreciated your contributions here.
Thanks @shrink, yeah the mods were fun.. but annoyed me to no end seeing that Rivian has completely ignored the R1T owners concerning VD which has actually became worse since the R1's were released 3 years ago.

After coming to grips with the fact that by the time I take delivery of a R2 (I'm a day reservation holder) it will probably be 2027 and my 2023 R1T would have very little trade in value at that point they way things have been going. And there's lots of competition coming soon from other major manufactures too, so that will likely drive down 1st Gen Rivian values too :(

My wife actually wants a Jeep now. She is coming from a Lexus GX. Kids are grown and she just wants something a little more fun and easy to park. I know ZERO about Jeeps (long time Toyota 4Runner guy). Anyone here have any recommendations you would make for someone in my situation? She was asking the other day which particular model she should consider, and I had zero input I could offer. We did rent a 4XE on our latest trip, and it handled and drove well - just a lot of road noise.
Jeep Wrangler = road noise.

It's been that way forever since the CJ5/CJ7 days just due to the design of the vehicle. Try to test drive a 4xe Sport as it has much quieter tires then the Rubicon. She might also be able to hop in to the Sport easier too.

Going to miss you around here, but what matters is you are happy with your ride! $60k after 2 years is pretty good.

Good luck and don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Thanks, will miss the regulars around here too!

The boss thought I should have gotten more for the trade, but it is what it is with used EV's at this point. Just a couple (and I mean two) months ago the trade in on my R1T was $64K, but today.. less.

Someone's going to get a really great 2023 R1T with only 4,100 miles on it.

This. So much road noise! I had never been in a Wrangler, but recently I got the chance to rent a 4xe. Before that, I was thinking about waiting for a fully electric Wrangler, but my god the road noise! When I was going 65 on the highway, it sounded (and felt) like I was going 95. For my time with it, the electric range of the 4xe was so small that it simply wasn't useful. I pulled the trigger on the R1T not long after.

Please come back now and then and tell us how much you miss your R1T ;)

p.s.

I'm keeping my pulse on this as a possible Rivian alternative: https://scoutmotors.com/

I see they've got a few high-level Rivian alumni on their payroll. Should be interesting.

I loved my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Moab Edition and had a hard time parting ways with it.

But, I bought a second house so I needed the money for the down payment.

What's funny to me is I debated long and hard about trading in my Jeep for a 4xe versus getting the Rivian. I ended up getting the Rivian which seemed pretty silly for my daily driving needs. Especially the R1T because what am I going to go with a truck?

That silliness disappeared when I got the second house.

The R1T gives me the ability to drive 219 miles to the second house without having to charge. I charge up at the house before I drive back. I also use it for constant trips to The Home Depot, and hauling yard debris to the dump.

When I had both the Wrangler was my favorite for city driving. But, the driving on the highway the R1T was the clear winner. My R1T does have a lot of suspension noise in city driving, but its fine on the highway.

I get a little excited when my GF checks out the Gladiator, but she'll never actually go for it. She's Subaru/Toyota person through and through.

Went through the hidden storage compartment in the back today, found this back there alongside the OEM EVSE.

It's a Jeep brand OEM "power box" that you plug in to the J1772 port and it gives you two independent 15amp outlets. It's included with 2024 Rubicon models. Pretty cool in addition to the center console mounted 115V outlet :)

Have fun with the Jeep. My wife's other vehicle is a Bronco that we've had fun modding, along with cool evening drives.

Regarding VD something had to be amiss with yours. Both of ours barely lose a kw a night now and are less than our tesla. The Tesla we have to turn of Sentry while our Rivans have Gear Guard on. Who knows.

Probably nothing amiss with his Rivian. Most Gen 1 have about 1-1.5kwh vampire drain. Gen 2 should be better.

Well I can definitely live with that vs the 5kw+ when first got truck 2 years ago. I assumed he was having much worse than 1kw.

Our Mach e is less than 1 kw but last update was 6 months ago and no monitoring. So I'll take the updates and monitoring.
