I had a quad R1T for 25k miles and 2 1/2 years so I’ve been through most scenarios. Just parked my new R1S Tri at O’Hare yesterday while we are going away for 12 days. 64% charge, Gear Guard off nothing left in the vehicle. I just checked it for the first time and have lost 10% battery and 40 miles of range in 24 hours. Truck will be dead in 5 days! Rivian service just tried to tell me that 10% a day is totally acceptable! Their solution for me is to ask someone to drive 3 hours to the airport and charge the truck for me. Aarrgghh!!!

Do you have the cabin heat on? I know a cold front is coming through.

No heat on. Interior temp is 30 degrees. Gear Guard is off.

They told me once to put it into lowest suspension and service mode for a trip like that. I called them with concerns about 2-3% drains per day. Anyway, deep draining the battery and leaving it like that for a relatively long time will probably degrade overall battery life. Also 10% per day is like 13kwh. That’s 500W/h. What on earth is this thing running?

I was thinking in Celsius, and finally realized you meant Fahrenheit

Something is going on. My phantom drain is around 2kWh/day since the 2024.27.1 update doubled the phantom drain of version 2024.19.1

Dang man, that's not good. I live 15 mins from O'Hare and often think about charging half of what O'Hare would for long term parking and I would just top off peoples rivians.

Worst case scenario I'd help you out. But 10% a day is unacceptable. I know it's cold out but it shouldn't be that high.

There a few threads out there for excessive vampire draining recently. Mine has been about the same as yours ever since the .39 update. I have a ticket open but no appointments until January ?‍♂ They said they’ll look at it remotely because I’m certain it’s a software issue. Hoping .43 fixes it (if I ever get it).

I have ElectraFi and see it’s waking up around 100 times a day which is the main cause of the VD. I sent the screenshot to Rivian so we will see what will happen. Disappointing since VD hasn’t been an issue for me in nearly 2 years of ownership.

I’m very interested in knowing the outcome. Please keep us posted.

12v is dying 2 years is about most see for battery life.
I was worried about this which is another reason I want them to remote diagnose. I’ve heard they can tell remotely if you need to replace them as some even get notified proactively. Still think mine has to be software.

Car seats plugged into the buckle? I haven't experienced this and have left it at the airport for 8 days losing about 1% a day.
Not mine. It’s really too coincidental with the software upgrade. When I check ElectraFi history I have normal drain the couple of weeks before the update then starts excess with all the sleeps/idles the exact day I did the .39 update. I’ve done multiple hard resets and it seems to help for a day or two then it goes back to the excessive amount.

Yikes — so sorry, this would stress me out/infuriate me so I feel your pain. Hope RIVIAN can figure something out (quickly) and help provide solutions/options. FWIW (not much, unfortunately) I just returned yesterday from a 6-day Thanksgiving trip during which time my RIVIAN lost 4%. My wife’s Model Y, which we took to the airport, lost a whopping 1% (no joke: 85% when we parked it; 84% yesterday when we returned). Clearly, RIVIAN needs to do better. Best of luck.

I've left mine unplugged and not driven for several days, gear guard on and everything left normal. It's lost a couple %. So maybe this is a weather issue?
