My experience with Discount Tire/Hillsboro OR was excellent -- an unscheduled, urgent, and complex situation that they handled with grace, competence, and reasonable prices. The only issue, which I considered small, is that they didn't replace the slot covers until after taking the R1 outside, when I spotted it and reminded them.

Based on what I read in this forum, I agree with @godfodder0901 and @Mark_AZR1T that the quality of Discount Tire's Rivian service is far more variable than it should be. I suspect @Discount Tire's authority is in Customer Service rather than in Training or in Quality Improvement.

I recently had a bolt in my tire and went to America's Tire (what they call it in CA) and they were great.. The tech new there was a jack mode but didn't know how to find it... they did have the correct pucks and knew how to remove the caps to access them... So overall good experience. Definitely worth having a set of your own pucks though and making sure any shop knows how to put the truck in jack mode.

I have nothing but good things to say about our DT Store here in Yakima. I will definitely stop by one day to chat with them and see if they have the "pucks" (I ordered my own), and also if they've worked with Rivians (just a handful in town). I do plan on getting some winter gear later this year, so I might as well prepare.

OP - sorry to hear about your issues.

The Discount Tire in Colorado Springs off of Forrest Hill Rd is fantastic, but mistakes do happen. I've gone to them for close to 20 years and bought close to two dozen sets of tires and probably had over 50 tire rotations. I did have one issue where their tire mounting machine slightly damaged a wheel on my E90 330i. They immediately took responsibility and ordered a new wheel from BMW. Could not have handled it better.

Have zero concerns about recommending them to others and they've already done four tire rotations on our R1S with zero issues (other than the articulation of the R1S on 20" AT made it difficult to get off the ground without spacers - my last rotation they had even purchased new jacks with more extension to remove the need for the spacers - nice).

I had my winter tires swapped in March at the Renton location no problem. I saw they opened the jack point covers on the panels but didn't see what kind of pucks they used. I brought mine but they didn't need them. Hope that helps!

I highly suggest getting to directly know the Discount/Americas Tire service Manager at the location you need service. If they say they have Pucks, ask to see them. If they say they will use yours watch them. If the Service Manager is not respectful of your concerns, go to a different location. If they do a good job, write a 5 star review every place you can and copy it to Service Mgr. and corporate as well copy paste it to your email. Then if/when you go back, you show the review to express your position and suggest you are a good customer.
I did this, it worked. I have a store in Bakersfield Ca. that I will return to. But! each time I go, I will check to see the same understanding is present...

Whew, all this just to get tires!

I had a great experience with them down here in southern CA. I called ahead of time and they already had the pucks ready (I still had my jackpucks just incase).

They put the truck in service mode (tire change) and did everything correct on mines.

I hope they worked with you to solve the damage issues somehow.

Which SoCal location is this? There's a ton of them around and I definitely wouldn't mind driving to a location that understands how to properly handle the Rivian.

The America's Tire in Lake Forest that has been mentioned in prior posts is also the location I go to. I think it helps that it's the closest one to Rivian's Irvine HQ. They do quite a bit of Rivian volume so they are familiar. I've moved since and drove the 45 min. back to that location for my 7500 mile rotation.

I got my tire certs from that location and when I went in for my 7500 mile rotation, there was an R1T ahead of me. I brought my pucks in case but they didn't need them.

I also have running boards and this was my solution, down the length of the running board I have stickers noting that it's a running board and don't lift. I also have callouts for the jackpoints:

I hate to call them out again but feel like I need to keep them accountable. So someone from DT DM'd me that they saw my post and want to have a chat with me. I gave them my contact details and I've been told twice now someone from the Kirkland location would call. No call.

Don't say you're going to follow up if you're not. I'd rather you just did't respond.

Does anyone have a positive experience with Discount Tire locations around Denver / Englewood / Loveland / Fort Collins? Coming up on 21k miles on OEM tires and about to go get new set of Toyo AT3 EV tires at Discount Tire if I can find a location other Rivian drivers have positive experience with. @Discount Tire do you have a list of Denver area stores that have the Rivian tire service training?

The dealerships are all different, the dealer in Bakersfielf Ca. is tops! this PSA is one of general wisdom, not necessarily only Discount Tire. There are ignorant service techs everywhere, I will spare you the details.
