Yes, that's going on now. From my understanding, the roadblocks for Openpilot on the Rivian are figuring out the rest of the commands Rivian is using to manage speed and detect the blind spots so they can use Openpilot for distance control. A little more tuning for the wheel torque would probably help too. At least at this stage, it's a software issue. From what I've heard, the Comma 3X hardware isn't holding them back from improving Openpilot. That sounds super! I think they are having their "hack-a-thon" this weekend (or next). Does anyone know if they're trying to incorporate any of the recent AI advancements reported in the media (chips, models, etc.) into the Comma and OpenPilot...OR are they just focusing on getting the existing units to be "compatible"/play nice with the Rivian??? I'm not a tech person, so I'm looking at this as the Comma being analogous to a computer (hardware) and the OpenPilot as analogous to a computer program that runs on Comma....this may NOT be a correct way to look at things. Any chip upgrades to Comma....or just tweaking OpenPilot to be compatible with Rivian? Thanks.
