New Rivian OEM drawer installed on Gen1

I cannot get mine to lock. I've done a reset too. Looks like i will have to submit a ticket.

I had a little trouble at first. Make sure you give it some force when inserting. Just sliding the drawer in gently didn’t get it to lock for me.

I have the BestEVMod drawer. It locks when driving and you must stop to unlock it via the main display. This is annoying, I agree. However, a piece of electrical tape over the contact at the back of the drawer defeats the lock, therefore the box remains unlocked at all times. It would be nice to have a quick way to lock it ONLY when one wants to do so.

Another thing to keep in mind - any box that sits in a separate tray is bound to have less usable space than one that doesn’t use a tray. These boxes are not very big as it is, so every little bit counts.

I played around with it some more. I pushed into place, put in Drive, then put it back in park. It finally locked in place.

I received my new OE drawer last night and installed it today on my Gen1 R1T. Despite what the website says, it indeed works with Gen1 and locks properly. The action is smooth and feels beefy. I was a little surprised that there’s so much of a gap between the front trim piece and the bottom of the opening but it doesn’t bother me. Just note that there’s the potential for things to come out under heavy braking.

I have the BestEVmod center console organizer and use it for my large metal water bottles, which don’t fit in the stock cupholders. It does limit the opening of the drawer but not enough to make it inconvenient.

Overall a nice accessory.

Disappointed the pattern on the rubber are not Rivian logos like the other trays in the truck.

I have no issues with the drawer I 3D printed. I have never looked at the screen to see if it recognizes it as a drawer, will need to check that.

You may want to look at versions of this on Printables as well as this is going to be quite difficult to print successfully.

Dang. My MK3S build plate is only 250x210x210; the MK4S is 250x210x220. It won't fit on the MK3S build plate. The Bambu is even larger, 256x256x256.
Correction. The MK3S and MK4S build plates are the same size, but the height is different, which is ok. But the mk4 modified model still won't fit on the build plate -- prusa slicer says it's 250.1 mm long. I manually changed the length to 249.5 (249.6 wouldn't fit) and was able to fit it on the plate. Haven't printed it yet.

I bought a drawer that is compatible with Jen one but I can’t get my accessory dock to unlock. The UI says that it is unlocked but it is not.. like it’s stuck— anyone else deal with this issue?

Try this:
Pushed in till it clicks. Hold it there. Put in Drive, then put it back in park. It will lock it in place.

Thank you for the reply, but the problem is it stays locked even though the computer says it is unlocked. So if I could get it unlocked, I could probably do what you’re saying but right now it’s just stuck in the locked position….

That's interesting. I'm on travel so I can't go check it out. I'll look into when I get back in town this weekend if I encounter the same problem.

That would be great. I bought it used with 12000 miles, did not come with the camp speaker… I love compartments.. I’ve tried two of these things and now realized the lock is locked and again, the UI brain thinks it’s unlocked.. I’m also going to stop by my service center and ask the guys — I haven’t found an online solution.
