Subject says it all, I've got a 2023 R1S and tried a number of pano roof shades off Amazon over the past year and none fit correctly.

Now that the weather is heating up again it's time to start looking for a solution again. Does anyone know of a properly fitting 2 piece pano roof shade for the R1S? Have any improvements been made by 3rd party vendors out there?

How incorrectly have they fit? I have one on my Gen 2 that I'm happy enough with. It isn't 100% perfect but, I'd say 95%, once installed and tucked into the trim, no one ever notices that it isn't OEM. That said, I am absolutely disinclined to ever remove it to enjoy the pano because it's not very simple to get it in place. Going through my email, it looks like I got the EVBASE R1S Roof Sunshade.

Thanks for the reply, none that I tried fit in the main larger section - I found that either the sides had a good 1-1/2 to 2 inch gap (even with clips inserted) or the front and back of the shade were too long to even tuck under the headliner.

I installed the Hansshow one on my 23 R1S and found that there is definitely a front and rear orientation. It fits tightly and no light comes through. It is unwieldy to install so I haven't removed it in over a year. I wish Rivian had installed a motorized shade. I would have gladly taken that over the useless camp speaker.

We got a front window shade from CoverKing that seems to kill most of the heat. It's not clear to me that one would need a roof shade.

Yeah, I am good on the front windshield - originally had one from Covercraft but switched to the official Rivian one which honestly is heavier, thicker and nicer. Does a great job.

After going though a hot summer in the R1S last year the pano roof definitely needs a cover or some sort of heat rejection. As much as I love my Rivian, anytime the temp outside gets to above 85F the inside will cook fast with that roof - I don't care what Rivian says that roof generates heat.

For reference, I have ceramic tint all the way around my vehicle so the roof is the only untreated area. With all that being said, I took a chance on another roof screen on Amazon and so far it fits! I'll do a lil more testing with it but I can say I absolutely feel a difference - especially when coming back to the vehicle after it has been parked outside for a while.

I thought my roof shade did not fit well until I forgot it was there and opened the windows at highway speed. Do not try this at home.

Oddly, the shade fit significantly better after being compressed, folded, unfolded, jumping into the front seat then the backseat, and trying to launch itself out of each window.

Now, biggest gap is less than a quarter inch.

That's crazy, just had to return mine from EVBase. It was almost 2 inches to big on all sides and no amount of stuffing it under the trim was fixing it. Frustrating, never had these issues with my Model Y accessories.

I am having the same issue. It is at least 2 to 4 inches too big each way. I have been emailing with them and they’re only offering an 80% refund and they said I could keep it. I don’t want to keep it because it’s too big that I can’t actually use it.

2 to 4 inches is what I ran in to many times.

The mention of don’t bring the windows all the way down at highway is true and I have a possible fix for this for folks who like to drive on the highway with all the windows down all the way and want their shade to stay nice and tight.

I need to get off my behind and put a small order in to get more feedback.

After trying 10+ roof shades. I finally found a set for truck and SUV I would buy and I would gift because I’ve done exactly that.

The difference in triple digits temp was 9 degrees and cabin tends to be more insulated / stay cooler for longer so when you make your small quick stops, the AC doesn’t have to work as hard to re-cool the cabin.

The first set of batches I will sell will be on this forum so I can collect feedback to share with the manufacturer.

Tariff uncertainty has put a dent in my timeline for now. I might go through and put a small order of 20 pieces In next couple weeks to see how much it would cost including shipping / customs.
