2 weeks ago a got a call from Rivian, they had an appoitment scheduled on my behalf. Not many details available... offered to come to my work and get it "all done".
Remote unit showed up, i told them the truck was not available for the next hour.
The guy offered to follow me and get it done wherever i was going to.
Long story short... he replaced my 12V battery. My truck is only 9 months old, 10k miles.

Did anyone else went through the same?

On my 5th 12v, this time they replaced the inverter and it's been 3 weeks, AND i have to go get it myself, over 2 hours away.

I live along and don't have a partner so this is not very convenient for me. I wish they would return trip warranty issues still.

Same thing for me. I have a mobile service appointment scheduled for next week and just noticed there's a 12V battery replacement added to my tire rotation. Mine is 1 year old, late Gen 1.

They have a crappy policy that any followups to a mobile apt must be in the shop, even if it something new.

I had my first inspection a while back and the door trim needed replacing, but the system wont even let them book a mobile apt for it because the mobile tech found it.

that explains something- I have a metal piece that has popped through on one of the rear seats of my R1T, and they replaced the bottom part of the seat via a mobile appointment, well it happened again and they are insisting on bringing the truck in to see if there is anything causing it.

it’s a defective seat cushion. mobile can certainly handle it but after an hour of telling them that is really inconvenient, I am on my way in.

as if my 12v battery is causing it? or my drive train, or whatever else. the real issue is that twice it has drawn blood (no shit) so it is a real problem.

Mobile replaced my original 12v within a day because I had a business trip out of town. That was about 4 months into my ownership. A year later, Rivian called & said they would like to replace the 12v. I explained that it had already been replaced. They explained that it was part of a campaign and probably a good idea to replace. So, mobile tech came by and replaced the 12v. Took about 20 minutes.

They noticed a part of the window trim was coming off and put in a ticket and a few weeks later another mobile tech came and replaced that. I've been lucky that the local SC has been good and my car has not had major issues.

If you have a gen 2 your 12V is nowhere near the rear seat. It’s under the front passenger seat.

Exact same thing here, I have a R1s gen 2 that I bought in November. The tech looked the battery over as he was replacing it and the carrier noting that the bolts for the strap were over tightened but he found no cracks in the battery case, he said that he had found a couple of batteries that had cracked during the last month of these replacements.

I have an early 2022 R1T. 40,000 miles. Never had the 1st issue with anything. Im a Realtor and often use pet mode to keep heat and ac on while showing property. I would think that would have degraded my 12V system by this point but seems to be going fine. Never have I been Contacted about replacing it.

I have an early R1T with 45,000 miles. Original 12 volt system. No issues. I charge daily to 70% weather it needs a charge or not.

There’s been multiple proactive 12V service campaigns. Even if you haven’t had faults triggered you should still contact SC to check on eligibility of replacement—especially if you still have warranty left, since it’s about $800 out of pocket for dual battery gen 1s.

Seems like a lot of work for a trained professional that may do several of these each week.
