I would certainly appreciate that too, but I am just looking for audio over USB to use a phone or other audio player; the most basic of the basic to avoid awful Bluetooth. My 2013 BMW 550 had the USB audio with album art and such that I believe you are describing - an ancient feature. Rivian's info-tainment system is lacking (at best) - wish they would enable USB audio to help overcome some of the shortcomings.

At least one that has superior audio, no squeaks and software that doesn’t feel like 2016 Android?
Porsche with base audio, or even Bose, and its UI that takes upwards of 3 seconds to respond to touch, would like a word. Squeaks? Vehicle dependent. I’m driving what I perceive to be a swiss army knife of utility vehicles. Fine for highway driving, capable off road too. And full of first/second-gen tech. It does not ride as comfortable as my Cayenne, but I would absolutely drive it more places than my Cayenne.

I do believe those would meet the definition of 'hardware'...
Yes and no.
Reread this part until it sinks in
I bought commaAI. Kept getting motor failure error. Had to take it in to SC.

End of the day it’s an after market addition to the truck.
An after market stereo or speakers is something and comma 3X is another.
You’re depending totally on comma and if something goes wrong Rivian warranty will not cover it.
I loved the videos about comma 3X but it isn’t FSD coming from the manufacturer.

Gen 1 or 2. Don’t even bullshit us and say your door handles are better than my 2016 Sienna

I agree - the audio should be much better in a $100K vehicle, but $100K doesn't seem to go very far these days. At least the interior is a substantial upgrade over the Model S I had beforehand.

Very true. But one thing I find funny about Rivian is everyone immediately gives them kudos for their interior simply because there’s a piece of wood in the dash. Everything else is average

I had a 2021 Model S (the first facelift). No ambient lighting in that $90K car was inexcusable. Minimalistic is okay but the interior was pretty bad. I went through 3 yokes before Tesla finally used a better material.

You say that the Rivian doesn't feel like a 100K dollar car to you, then you proceed to name a whole list of cars you have that don't approach 100K. Maybe let the people who've owned vehicles at that price point make that comparison. Complaining about it not being a 100K dollar car while driving a fucking Sienna minivan, give me a break dude.

Waaah, seeing the majority of the changes being for G2. Which I expect to be the norm going forward. At least our G1’s get some updates.

thanks rivian for lying to me when you told me my gen 1 would have full self driving.
The only things that were promised to you were in the contract you signed when you purchased the truck. In fact, there are zero promises we will get any improvements via OTA.

We get what we pay for. You didn't pay for full self driving. I didn't either. If it comes to my truck, that will be cool. If it doesn't, I won't fuss and cry about it. Because I didn't pay for it. It isn't in the contract I signed. What I drove home is what I purchased. Period.
