The only things that were promised to you were in the contract you signed when you purchased the truck. In fact, there are zero promises we will get any improvements via OTA.

We get what we pay for. You didn't pay for full self driving. I didn't either. If it comes to my truck, that will be cool. If it doesn't, I won't fuss and cry about it. Because I didn't pay for it. It isn't in the contract I signed. What I drove home is what I purchased. Period.
Preach, my man.

I'll still take the Gen 1 and the cost savings at this point than a Gen 2. Honestly, though, every day I am less and less likely to buy another Rivian.

My service issues have just about bled out my love for the brand which was higher than I had for Tesla at one time. The wind noise is still a continuing issue even after the latest visit. It did help me put things in comparison. I thought my truck was about the worst for Rivian wind noise.

My Rivian loaner was able to dethrone my truck from the worst wind noise. Rivian did manage to trump that truck by damaging mine while in service.

I'd take my truck without any issues (as it should be) rather than any recent update they've rolled out. We are in for a rough ride when the R2s roll out if they haven't gotten the service aspect better sorted.
I spoke to one of the main technician at the Dallas center couple years ago when they addresssed this with my R1s. He said , the panel gaps imperfection of each rivians is one of the main issues that caused windnoise. Very hard to elimiate it all.

I gave up on the windnoise issue with the R1S. My R1T windnoise is much much better.

You say that the Rivian doesn't feel like a 100K dollar car to you, then you proceed to name a whole list of cars you have that don't approach 100K. Maybe let the people who've owned vehicles at that price point make that comparison. Complaining about it not being a 100K dollar car while driving a fucking Sienna minivan, give me a break dude.
The funny thing is, there are F150 Lightnings that have an msrp of over $100k. There isn’t a ford I’d pay over $100k for, with the exception of the GT. That’s my dream car. As a patient early reservation holder, I paid less than $60k for my Gen 2 R1T.

I'm surprised we made it through 5 pages without anyone calling out this one:

More reliable mobile commands while vehicle is asleep

This has been one of my main complaints about the vehicle that should be able to be addressed. Here's hoping it works before winter gets here and I want to turn the heat on before I leave. I also hope this fix means I won't have to get my phone out to unlock the vehicle whenever I leave my house. It now never unlocks on its own otherwise, no matter how long I stand around.

Agreed - in my limited ownership I certainly have noticed turning mobile cam off/on from the app has been difficult. In addition, I walked up to my R1S on the passenger side last night and it didn't wake up and present handles. About 20 seconds later I walked around to the driver's side and finally it woke up and opened the doors.

I’m sure there are others out there who have owned more, but my Rivian Gen2 is my 20th car. Until I bought our Gen 1, I’d never had another car that offered any updates that enhanced the vehicle’s audio, features or drivability (besides recall fixes).

Over the years, Audi, BMW, Porsche & Range Rover all even charged for MAP updates!

I very much enjoy our Rivians and am continually impressed with the actual feature updates that we continue to receive. And I guess I do think they are worth 100k+ - I keep buying them!

Yes. An F-150 is the definition of a car not worth $ 100,000.

Show me your purchase contract that promised you full self driving.
In fact, at that time (first 2 years if Gen 1) Rivian explicitly said they were not pursuing self driving….some people lack reading comprehension and are unable to manage their own expectations

Oh well, I just traded in my old launch edition for the gen 2 launch edition. Stop complaining, gen 1s are still damn good, especially those that got the pre-price hike. If you are unhappy just upgrade.

Not self-driving, but they were certainly advertising the Gen 1 on the website as "true hands-free driver assistance" all the way up to about the end of Q1 2023 when they quietly removed that language. It was also right around the time they removed the driver-monitoring camera.

Obviously, hands-free Driver+ never really came to pass.

I didn't get the price hike and I still wouldn't trade my Gen 1 for a Gen 2!

If anything, for Gen1, these updates should really start promoting Comma development, their fore I'm thankful.
I’m not a Comma user but saw this the other day.

Im not convinced the OOS video provides any valuable information on the comma is causing an issue or not. I currently don't have a comma installed but have been getting an "Adaptive Cruise Control Cancelled: System Fault Detected" after the latest update. I think Rivian messing around with mobile eye between Gen1 and 2, they messed some dependacies on the driver plus system and they need to fix it (this isn't based on any data just a theory). Hoping this issue gets resolved. Based on what I researched I have more confidence in Comma than I do in Rivian developing driver assistance.
