@KBabione I did not! It was delayed and now there is no delivery date. Trust me: I’m pissed. 🙂 it was stuck on this train and still hasn’t been unloaded at the delivery station in MD. And I asked the manager if Rivian knows this and why haven’t they don’t anything to get this going. I’m not sure how much pull they have to get 6 Rivian off a train that’s been stuck since the snow storm back on January 24th.

Not sure where this "under 20% is so bad" comes from. Given my choice, I sit closer to 0 than 100%. New Li-ion are made at 0% and there is Calendar Aging that happens and can be minimized by avoiding storing at high temps AND high state of charge. Don't think being close to 0 for a month is the end of the world. Plus it's not summer so you avoided the high temp thing also.

I believe there is some lithium plating that occurs close to 0 but is reversible with charging. Not exactly sure on this mechanism.

Biggest problem at 0 is going below true zero and then getting cells to charge. Don't think this happens very often.
As a single data point, I had a Pebble smart watch that sat for 5 years at 0 charge. Fitbit died so resurrected old Pebble. Charged up fine and still has a 7 day battery life, vs 9-10 days when new. Don't think sitting at zero hurt it.

Your battery will be fine. Enjoy!
I wasn’t sure what the best charging approach was, since I’ve read on forums and from Rivian that letting the battery sit at very low charge, especially in cold temperatures, can be harmful. I just want to make sure it isn’t sitting too long in transit and risking battery degradation.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Not much I can do. Hopefully Rivian can make this right in other ways.

Oh wow, that really sucks. Well keep your chin up, you are so close to getting it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

In the meantime I posted some pics of my Borealis R1T. Hopefully that give you some inspiration until it comes in.

Cold doesn't hurt LI-ION batteries. CHARGING them when frozen does. And the BMS (Battery Management System) on the car will warm the battery before allowing it to be charged if it is that cold.

Not to worry...
