I'm confident Rivian (any any car manufacturer) looks at this telemetry and prioritizes the popular ones.
Here's the problem with looking at data - it's slanted by how it's designed.

How many people would do function A if it was a button, or on the home screen, vs. buried? Did you do an A/B test? If not, you're influencing them doing it by where you place it. "I'm not looking for that damn ____, I'll just ignore it".

Yes, you're absolutely right, but I'm just telling you what I see in the automotive world (Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, and Mazda). They prioritized it based on the telemetry, which has improved 100-fold over the last decade.

If something is too complex and you ultimately ignore it, well I guess it wasn't THAT important to you. If everyone is doing the two button process to fold both mirrors and it happens often enough, then they may do something.

Of course every manufacturer does things differently. Rivian, being a semi-startup may prioritize other things, but an established manufacturer will have teams of people (including marketing insights folks) working on these "feature submissions".

Or, I'm just pissed off about it so I give up.

Non-techy people just shutdown on some things. My wife the other day was doing something, and I said "do you know you can do that in 1/2 that time this way?" and she said "I know this way, I don't know that way, so leave me alone".

Yeah, I don't buy the "if you ignore it, it wasn't that important" argument. There are things that I live with because the activation energy is too high, but I notice and actively feel it detracts a bit from the experience and wish it would change. But just because I don't start a mail-in campaign doesn't mean it doesn't merit addressing.

We have been using our R1T's kneel mode for almost 3 years now, and have found it very useful. The only complaint I have is that it moves rather slowly when trying to drop someone off. I like the idea of activating the kneel mode when coming to a stop.

There is a bill in the House to control the data collection by the automakers.

The bill states, "A manufacturer of a motor vehicle shall provide to a motor vehicle owner secure access to, and joint control of, any motor vehicle data…" at no extra cost, in real time, and "in a manner that facilitates the deletion of any such user data stored in the vehicle."

Automakers would also have to provide a "clear and conspicuous opportunity to opt out of any such sale" of their data. The data the bill would protect includes biometrics, precise geolocation, driver behavior, and data shared via a personal device.

I didn’t receive a notification on my phone about the download or the update being available to install. If I open the mobile app, it clearly states it’s ready to install though. Likely an iOS thing?

Installed tonight. Kneel mode improvement is a big plus for vertically challenged wife.

Do G1 Quads get a higher top speed in launch mode like G2, or do we stay capped at 111mph?

Credit where it's due, I've been asking for a button to engage kneel mode ever since they released the feature, glad to see it happen.
The thing is, you still have to make 2 botton pushes to kneel. You have always been able to accomplish this by pressing "mode" and then sport low(est)......
