Which R2 Color Will You Choose?

This poll is interesting in that it skews toward the 4 "colors" offered rather than the typical black/white/silver/gray that dominate the automotive world. IMHO, it probably says more about the forum than what the actual take rates will be.

I have a LE R1T with Launch Green and 20" AT tires. For some reason, I think Launch green only works with AT tires (must be a military vibe).

Black was not popular for the R1 either when looking at the parking lots of the service centers.

I am surprised they changed LA silver and El Cap Granite with very similar replacements. From a simplification with R1 I thought they would align - unless R1 changes pin to those colors.

Interesting clip from RJ on black Rivians. Essentially he has tried to discontinue it but enough people only want a black car. He feels that black, especially with black wheels and black trim is inconsistent with the brand.

IMHO, if you ask anyone "What's your favorite color?" outside the context of picking one for a car, black/white/silver/gray will have a pretty poor showing, percentage wise. There are lots of good reasons for it (practical, hides dirt, resale value, etc.). But do they really love it like someone who got Compass Yellow or Borealis does? Anyway, I find it oddly uplifting to see Catalina Cove leading the poll. Maybe I just have too much time on my hands today...

Might just do the Esker Silver since there appears to be a low take number here. Was kinda the same with LA Silver.

I will be surprised if the colors purchased line up with this poll. People often say they want bold colors but then get grey, white, silver. It also depends on how much they upcharge. Everyone willing to pay $3500 for Borealis?

Unless paint options are priced reasonably, going back to silver…easiest color to take care of, hides fine scratches, etc. Catalina Cove would be next choice.

Travis Ketchum made a video today and said that all colors *except* for Launch Green will be included with the LE. Would be awesome if that holds true.

Thanks for sharing. I have only seen a handful of black Rivians - similar numbers to yellow.

Yeah, very interesting. Of course we don’t know how much each color will cost yet (included on performance?) There’s a good poll on that on the forums. I feel like that’s a major factor for a lot of people looking for an affordable EV. Who wants to pay an extra $2,000-$3,000 for a color other than silver and an interior other than black? I wonder which colors would dominate if they didn’t cost extra?

I really like it in Launch Green, but the R2 I've had in my head for the last two years is Glacier White because it was the communication color of the prototype. I know it's basic, but it's floating around up there!

All told, I generally prefer the lighter colors because of how they contrast with the black roof and gray bumpers and side skirts.

Guess it depends what's available when I decide it's the right time to pull the trigger, assuming I'm eligible for the Launch Edition (as a day 1, minute 1, mad-browser-refreshing-at-launch kinda guy).
