Man, is that a cringe article. Did he meet the goals to earn that pay? Yes or no? My understanding is that most of his compensation is based on meeting a series of listed targets/goals that were determined by the board. Article seems to have left that out. 🙄

And some, clearly mathematically challenged, are sensationalizing it by saying dumb things like it's in the style of Tesla's compensation package for Elon.

This is just stupid. I'm sorry, I don't care how it's broken down or dispersed over milestones/goals/or dead bodies.

The billionaire class is bad for society.

Rivian does not exist without RJ. Maybe those of you lamenting wealth creation have enough money of your own to go buy a paper bag to breath into and keep yourselves from hyperventilating.

So why doesn’t he get 50% of the company, by your argument?

He should get whatever his compensation package requires. If it were privately held then he should have 100%.

I understand that this is a difficult concept for some.

This isn’t a private company; as a result, public shareholders matter. And you seriously think if RJ’s comp was half of this, Rivian’s success would be different? Even with just his shares (without options), if Rivian is worth $100B, RJ would be worth $1.5 billion

Keep plugging away for wealth redistribution instead of supporting innovation and wealth creation. You do it non-stop every chance you get here. I just wanted to post to make sure you knew you aren't in your own private echo chamber. Reddit is super receptive if that kind of stuff.
