And some, clearly mathematically challenged, are sensationalizing it by saying dumb things like it's in the style of Tesla's compensation package for Elon.Man, is that a cringe article. Did he meet the goals to earn that pay? Yes or no? My understanding is that most of his compensation is based on meeting a series of listed targets/goals that were determined by the board. Article seems to have left that out.
I think Elon and RJ comp plans are the only ones where their payouts are determined, in part, by the stock price levels. It’s just inviting meme like behavior

He should get whatever his compensation package requires. If it were privately held then he should have 100%.
This isn’t a private company; as a result, public shareholders matter. And you seriously think if RJ’s comp was half of this, Rivian’s success would be different? Even with just his shares (without options), if Rivian is worth $100B, RJ would be worth $1.5 billion
