I like the built in torch to the door so I can pretend I'm in a Rolls Royce with its built in umbrella

I think the feature I am most excited about is the Rivian assistant followed closely by the Haptic wheels. I do not like the idea of controlling the things in the car in a computer menu system. The option to control most things by voice commands is a serious game changer. The Haptic wheels also are nice. The matrix headlights and roll down rear window would come in 3rd and 4th.

I love a good survivorship biased story.
It just go up and down, how can it go wrong? There are plenty of electrochromic pano roofs that can open/close without issues.

My R2 favorite features would be to continue using seamlessly my current EV charging network...

I mean having the NACS plug instead of CCS makes charging more simple and reliable.

I am just relating to my 10+ years of experience using NACS and occasionally CCS superchargers.

I suspect my favorite feature will be the matrix (adaptive) headlights.
Those are kinda weird at first. I had a chance to ride in an R2 yesterday and I could see them functioning as objects and parts of the road went from illuminated to dark as we drove along. I will probably get used to it, but it did add a slight distraction as we drove a long. It seemed like a less extreme version of when your highbeams are working in auto mode. You can turn the function on and off, so at least you get a choice. I'd probably leave it on.

People often overlook warranty costs with additional features like this. Just plain glass, almost nothing to go wrong that could be a warranty issue. Moving glass has all kinds of concerns, especially one with a defrost circuit.
Tell me about it... Huge moving pano roof in my F150 decided to abort the lifting tracks, because it was stuck in place from non use. Dealer wants $4500 to replace the complete track system. $150 in parts from an aftermarket supplier and a few good youtube videos and I was thankfully back in business.

If you are like me... when the oportunity comes up where you need a flashlight and you can't find one, you turn to your phone. About 30 minutes later, you will remember the torch in the door.

I'm lazy... did any of the vehicles on display have the screen for the rear seats on the back of the center console? The te,st vehicle I got to ride in yesterday did not. It also did not have 12v power at the back of the console like the R1. Only USB-C connectors I saw were on the back of the front headrests.

I think one of the big things I like were the A/C controls in the steering wheel. Sounds like a minor thing, but my wife has a nack for adjusting the A/C on the center screen, when I need to make a critical turn with the NAV system. Like I will have 3 choices when having to go right into a congested section of road, and my wife will adjust the A/C blocking my view.

I would certainly like the V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) capabilities.
Those could be very practical when camping or in case of power failure at home.

What current EV's beside the Mercedes-Benz EQS' top, $140k trim, have an electrochromic roof that also opens?
